Overview: <p>An employee at this level is required to perform some or all of the following duties, which do not include all tasks to be performed:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee all daily activity of the finance department, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger</li> <li>Oversee the management of revenue and expenditures to maximize financial resources and maintain the fiscal responsibility of the PIHP, including financial analyses, fiscal compliance, and reporting</li> <li>Review and approval of the following tasks</li> <ul> <li>Monthly bank reconciliation</li> <li>Payment initiation</li> <li>General journal entry</li> <li>Oversight of claim reconsideration and reprocessing</li> <li>Monthly Use tax payments</li> <li>Quarterly IPA and Local Match Payments</li> <li>Annual IPA tax returns</li> </ul> </ul>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Responsible for coordination of the following projects</li> <ul> <li>Annual budget preparation/review/amendment</li> <li>Annual financial audit preparation</li> <li>Annual compliance exam preparation</li> <li>Annual Federal Award Audit (Single Audit)</li> </ul> <li>Responsible for the timely preparation (including coordination of member CMHSPs)&nbsp;and submission for all MDHHS-required finance reports</li> <li>Routinely participate in senior management meetings to ensure comprehensive planning and coordination across essential functions</li> <li>Responsible for presenting finance reports to the Board of Directors</li> <li>Attendance at various meetings</li> <li>Other tasks as assigned</li> </ul>
Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: (An employee must have the following credentials, training, and experience.)<br /> <ul> <li>Licensed Accountant in the State of Michigan</li> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting</li> <li>Five years of experience in accounting with Michigan CMHSP and/or PIHP</li> <li>Demonstration of strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel</li> <li>Valid State of Michigan Driver&rsquo;s License</li> <li>Must have access to transportation</li> </ul> Preferred Qualifications:<br /> <ul> <li>Master&rsquo;s degree in Accounting</li> <li>Ten years of experience in accounting in Michigan public mental health system</li> <li>Experience in Michigan CMHSP and PIHP systems</li> </ul>
