Overview: The Global Commodity Manager within the Supply Chain organization at Masonite will focus on the Wood category with the utilization and implementation of VA/VE management techniques. The primary objective will be to establish and execute a global sourcing strategy and initiatives focused on all cost reduction activities to support the business objectives and goals. Demonstrate a strong understanding of best sourcing VA/VE management techniques, practices, and strategies, including: strategic sourcing; fact-based negotiation; supply product analysis; supplier relationship development; optimizing total cost and total value of the assigned products and services for Masonite. Will work closely with an external supplier, internal Masonite customers and stakeholders to understand their business needs/objectives, material/category requirements, and broader manufacturing processes. This position will report to the Manager, Global Sourcing.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Act as global supply management leader for assigned commodities. Initiate supplier identification, assessment, selection, and development processes. Develop and execute wood commodity sourcing strategies to meet customer and business unit objectives.</li> <li>Lead cross functional teams and manage supply chain goals improving value-to-cost relationship by focusing on total cost of ownership, quality, delivery, service and working capital (DPO/inventory).</li> <li>Proactively manage supplier base ensuring supply with no adverse impact on the business. Analyze, identify and understand supply chain risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate.</li> <li>Utilize formal benchmarking methods to determine best in class processes and drive improvement maintaining at the forefront of emerging industry practices.</li> <li>Measure and track supply performance within sourcing strategies. Resolves and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion.</li> <li>Effectively communicate with appropriate management levels both internally and externally.</li> <li>Project scoping &ndash; Assess the scope of cost reduction projects, resources required, potential savings, risks and assumptions and implementation plan.</li> <li>Project management &ndash; Lead, guide and coach cross-functional team members through the implementation of global cost reduction projects. Prepare and communicate material for project gate review sign-off meetings including change <span class="WLK2">management/validation</span> with cross-functional team.</li> <li>Conduct business dealings with the highest level of integrity and regard for legal and environmental issues.</li> <li>Identify opportunities for process improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change and manage resources effectively to prioritize project workloads including cost out opportunities across plants.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul><li>BS Required. Engineer, Business, and Supply Chain concentration preferred</li><li>Minimum 7years of Global Sourcing Category/Commodity Management with wood category and VA/VE experience required</li><li>Minimum 2 years’ experience in the wood Industry preferred</li><li>Global Commodity Management experience with minimum 5 years in supply chain / sourcing in product changes and resourcing required</li><li>Direct spend category management with understanding of product development and manufacturing process</li><li>Leading Contract and Supply agreement negotiations globally</li><li>Experience in working with manufacturing facilities to understand vendor related gaps and opportunities for improvement.</li><li>Strategic sourcing planning and execution</li><li>Experience working for North American multinational environment due to Global Sourcing responsibilities</li><li>Solid understanding of product development process and manufacturing process</li><li>Highly proficient with Word, Excel, Access, Project and PowerPoint, MS Project skills.</li><li>Six Sigma training and /Greenbelt certification preferred</li><li>Project Management PMP certification preferred</li></ul>
