Overview: The Regional EHS Manager will assess, maintain, and administer the EHS and loss control programs at each facility within the assigned region, ensuring full compliance with EHS regulations and policies, working to reduce injuries and workers compensation costs, ensuring corrective actions are taken to forestall EHS incidents or prevent reoccurrence, and coaching and counseling employees in their responsibilities at each site.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li> <p dir="LTR">Compliance with governmental and company Environmental, Health &amp; Safety regulations and policies</p> </li> <li> <p dir="LTR">Compliance with Property Conservation guidelines</p> </li> <li> <p dir="LTR">Aid plants in developing their injury reduction strategy</p> </li> <li> <p dir="LTR">Advise plant management on Worker Compensation Cost reduction strategies</p> </li> <li> <p dir="LTR">Compliance with environmental permit recordkeeping and reporting requirements</p> </li> <li> <p dir="LTR">Establish and maintain an effective system of communication, develop an effective working relationship at all regional sites.</p> </li> <li> <p dir="LTR">Regularly conduct in person visits to all sites in region</p> </li> <li> <p dir="LTR">Trend analysis and efficient data communication for region of responsibility.</p> </li> <li> <p dir="LTR">Maintains work injury and illness records for assigned sites.</p> </li> <li> <p dir="LTR">Prepare reports for Plant and Safety management teams on safety performance and justifications on safety measures</p> </li> <li> <p dir="LTR">Support and utilize lean tools to reduce incident rates</p> </li> <li> <p dir="LTR">Advise members of Plant and Safety management teams on safety concerns</p> </li> <li> <p dir="LTR">Provide professional coaching to plant safety personnel as observed</p> </li> <li> <p dir="LTR">Conduct corporate audits with site safety and operations leadership</p> </li> <li> <p dir="LTR">Inspect facilities to identify existing or potentially hazardous conditions</p> </li> <li> <p dir="LTR">Recommend <span class="WGL2">corrective/preventive</span> measures to reduce risk of injury</p> </li> <li> <p dir="LTR">Analyze and update site specific programs, procedures and plans in accordance with governmental or company guidelines</p> </li> <li> <p dir="LTR">Identify, monitor, evaluate, and track all site safety activities through audits, statistical analysis and computerized record keeping</p> </li> <li> <p dir="LTR">Work with corporate EHS Team to ensure all safety and training programs comply with OSHA and other industry standards, and are facilitated, managed, and audited</p> </li> <li> <p dir="LTR">Promote a safe working environment to increase safety awareness</p> </li> <li> <p dir="LTR">Guide and assist in incident investigations, root cause determination and corrective determination.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p> </li> <li> <p dir="LTR">Remain current on federal, state, local safety regulatory changes.&nbsp; Keep management advised of new or revised regulations and their projected impact.</p> </li> <li> <p dir="LTR">Oversee the preparation and submittal of regulatory reports (TRI, Tier II, Air, Storm Water, Waste)</p> </li> <li> <p dir="LTR">Ensure that environmental permits are maintained and kept up to date</p> </li> <li> <p dir="LTR">Up to 50% travel requirement (approximately)</p> </li> <li> <p dir="LTR">Must live near a major airport</p> </li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene) or in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, candidate must hold an Associate’s degree and a minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing environmental, health and safety management.</li><li>4-6 years of experience in Manufacturing Environmental, Health and Safety Management</li><li>Working knowledge of worker compensation, Federal, OSHA, NFPA, NEC</li><li>Strong understanding of insurance/risk management, learning technology, and employee training and development</li><li>Experience with Lean Sigma and Kaizen preferred</li><li>Lean Sigma Green Belt and Kaizen Facilitator preferred</li><li>ASP, CSP or similar certification preferred</li><li>Proven experience in leading and influencing groups of employees</li><li>Must possess effective strong written & verbal communication skills</li><li>Good communication, presentation, training, and planning skills</li><li>Must be comfortable presenting to groups of various levels</li><li>Must possess strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams)</li><li>Must be able to demonstrate experience with and the ability to resolve conflicts, be solutions-oriented, and work effectively across the organization and with all levels of employee</li></ul>
