Overview: Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Supervisor incumbent will be a proven leader and mentor. Qualities we look for are: problem-solving skills, someone that promotes a safe work environment, supervises while remaining in line with the collective agreement, utilizes resources (HR, HSE, Quality, Purchasing), and can motivate while assess/understand/utilize their staff&rsquo;s strengths &amp; weaknesses, attendance management.<br /><br />You will oversee plant activities, supervise the overall production, and delegate work assignments to ensure all key performance indicators (KPIs) are identified, structured, and addressed. Use production boards to keep employees enlightened and informed of the department's performance against standards, working with them to correct deficiencies.<br /><br />Part of your job will be to administer plant rules and other policies and procedures in a fair and equitable manner. Facilitate Gemba walks out on the plant floor, monitoring machine center performance to ensure optimum efficiencies, a practice used by Lean Leaders, and participate in Tier meetings with senior leadership using appropriate decision-making tools gaining approval before implementing decisions or changes.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Safety: enforce safety practices, tolerance to zero attitude, maintain safety engagement</li> <li>Quality: understand the standards &amp; requirements, work with precision and attention to details</li> <li>Delivery: Just in time production strategy</li> <li>Inventory: Manage the inventory, be aware of the inventory</li> <li>Productivity: measure the efficiency of the employees, equipment and overall cost efficiency</li> <li>Build employees trust: By knowing when to be transparent and when to listen and when to follow up to settle employee concerns.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul><li>Minimum of 3 years leadership experience in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment;</li><li>College Degree in a related field is preferred or the combination of High School degree with several years of experience in a supervisory role;</li><li>Must be computer literate and proficient in MS Office, Excel, Outlook. Previous exposure to Kronos as Time Management tool is an asset;</li><li>Hands-on experience implementing Lean Manufacturing process systems;</li><li>Excellent communication skills;</li><li>Reliable with high integrity and strong work ethic;</li><li>Self motivated with a results driven approach;</li><li>Excellent problem solving skills;</li></ul>
