Overview: <p>Drive and support the development and implementation of global sourcing supplier quality vision and strategies throughout the Team, providing flexible, responsive, and innovative sourcing support with the ability to identify, analyze, quantify and execute on opportunities to improve product quality, consistency and reduce total cost of goods, increase efficiencies and timelines, and improve product development through both domestic and international partners and support of our Global businesses.</p> <p>Strong interpersonal and project management skills, enthusiastic and result driven. The candidate is a successful individual who can expect to support a variety of sourcing and procurement projects across the Company, with significant exposure to senior business leaders and their teams.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li> <p>Lead and manage Masonite external suppliers&rsquo; new qualifications (new suppliers and new parts &ndash; Supplier PPAP).</p> </li> <li> <p>Conduct project qualification and key supplier&rsquo;s process/product audit.</p> </li> <li> <p>Support operation team by managing external supplier&rsquo;s quality issues.</p> </li> <li> <p>Reduce component non-conformances and lost COPQ by using modern quality tools, statistical tools and lean manufacturing tools.</p> </li> <li> <p>Work with the Global Sourcing Team to manage purchased component qualification to implement Sourcing PPV projects, include but not limited to,</p> <ul> <li> <p>Collaboration with the Product Engineering on new supplier and new component qualification testing. Work with product engineer to identify the proper qualification tests needed</p> </li> <li> <p>Request test number in MIC SharePoint</p> </li> <li> <p>Identify the number of test samples needed for the qualification test</p> </li> <li> <p>Request testing samples from supplier, audit and record the key production parameters of samples. Work with supplier on supplier internal testing before sending samples for Masonite testing.</p> </li> <li> <p>Coordinate with MIC to conduct testing to test plan requirements.</p> </li> <li> <p>Coordinate/manage Masonite manufacturing plant trial as needed.</p> </li> </ul> </li> <li> <p>Manage external/internal customer complaints and claims. Work with supplier on root cause analysis, implement corrective actions and verify the implementation.</p> </li> <li> <p>Support/Manage Masonite supplier quality documentations reviewing and updating.</p> </li> <li> <p>Support/Manage Masonite supplier quality KPI reports.</p> </li> <li> <p>Conduct on-site audit as needed for product audit and process audit. Identify and drive the quality improvement project to reduce COPQ and defect rates. Identify suppliers&rsquo; capability and room for improving, drive suppliers to make timely, effective improvements that benefit Masonite.</p> </li> <li> <p>Assists or provides component value engineering alternative solutions for competitive advantage. Work in cross functional teams and manage supply chain goals improving value-to-cost relationship by focusing on total cost of ownership, quality, delivery, service and working capital (DPO/inventory).</p> </li> </ul> <p>Approximately 30% travel (including national and internal travel)</p> <div id="gtx-trans" style="position: absolute; left: -206px; top: 26px;">&nbsp;</div>
Requirements: <ul> <li> <p>BS Required. Engineer or Supply Chain desired. MBA is a plus.</p> </li> <li> <p>Six Sigma training and /or Blackbelt certification is a definite plus</p> </li> <li> <p>Minimum 7 years of manufacturing or quality management experience, preferably in a multinational environment.</p> </li> <li> <p>Minimum 5 years of experience on building material industry includes wood, metal, chemical, plastic and glass categories are preferred.</p> </li> <li> <p>Strong project management skills</p> </li> <li> <p>Proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, Project and PowerPoint skills.</p> </li> <li> <p>Strong analytical and reporting skills</p> </li> <li> <p>Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills</p> </li> <li> <p>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</p> </li> <li> <p>Negotiation skills</p> </li> <li>In-depth understanding of tools used to facilitate change and new process implementation (change controls and PPAP/new qualifications)</li> </ul>
