Overview: This position is responsible for visually assessing the doors to determine if the door can be repaired, reworked, or needs rejected. This position will be sorting repair stacks by rework operation, create picklists, measuring door sizes for accuracy, and putting dates on doors.<br /><br />This position is responsible for minimizing COQ impact while meeting customer quality expectations, and documenting defects for data collection.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Assess doors to determine repair or replacement and separate them into stacks by requirements.</li> <li>Complete reject reporting in AX/required picklists in the computer system.</li> <li>Accurately measure doors for size and squareness.</li> <li>Continuous focus on finding defects and visual quality inspection/take photos for quality dept.</li> <li>Accurately enter adjustments for materials used in the repair process.</li> <li>Complete repair/reskin, log reskin and label door per ship date.</li> <li>Confirm repair meets industry quality standards.</li> <li>High communication within the department.</li> <li>Follow safety and process procedures.</li> <li>Other duties as assigned by supervisor/management.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>Minimum Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>A High School Diploma or GED certificate</li> <li>Two years of prior manufacturing experience</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <strong>Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Ability to read and navigate AX</li> <li>Ability to use hand tools; sanders, chisels, bondo, sandpaper, etc</li> <li>Ability to work with repair materials; wood putty, hot glue, paints, stains</li> <li>Knowledge of door construction, skin species, and colors</li> <li>Must have basic computer skills</li> <li>Works independently with minimal supervision</li> <li>Understand quality standards and proper stacking procedures</li> <li>Must have high attention to detail</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lift 1-30lbs frequently (up to 50% in a 10-hour day)</li> <li>Lift 30-60lbs regularly (up to 30% in a 10-hour day)</li> <li>Lift 60+lbs occasionally (up to 25% in a 10-hour day)</li> <li>Push/Pull 100lbs with assistance seldom (up to 13% in a 10-hour day)</li> <li>Kneel occasionally (up to 25% in a 10-hour day)</li> <li>Squat occasionally (up to 25% in a 10-hour day)</li> <li>Stoop frequently (up to 25% in a 10-hour day)</li> <li>Work with extended arms seldom (up to 13% in a 10-hour day)</li> <li>Stand in one spot for long periods</li> </ul>
