Overview: <p dir="LTR"><strong>The Director of IT Resiliency - Disaster Recovery and Change Management</strong> is responsible for communicating, developing, implementing, maintaining and managing the governance of the enterprise IT Disaster Recovery Management (DRM) program and IT Change Management program for Masonite International. The objective of these programs is to support IT system resilience and timely IT operations recovery, regardless of cause, location, or contributing party. This role will also support and oversee the complete root cause of an incident.</p> <p dir="LTR">The primary goal of the IT DRM program is to prevent impacts and to rapidly restore technology operations and the availability of mission-critical applications and production data. Secondly, this program is responsible for supporting key recovery objectives, including IT infrastructure damage assessments, crisis management and communications, coordination with external government agencies and timely work area recovery. This position will support the operations and access recovery of business applications and data that are not sourced in the data center, including departmental IT services and services supplied by third-party providers.</p> <p dir="LTR">This role is also responsible for maintaining the health of the IT system environment, first through ownership of the change management process, monitoring and managing incident closure, crisis management and communication and finally by directing critical incident resolution as needed.</p> <p dir="LTR">This role is technically and operationally oriented, however, it also requires strong leadership and communication skills to effectively collaborate with senior business unit management in the definition, prioritization and support of key business recovery requirements and objectives. In addition, the Director of IT Resiliency should understand Masonite's business, operational environments and industry. The successful leader should be able to translate business operations recovery requirements into action-oriented plans, programs, data center infrastructures and recovery testing strategies. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate strategic thinking, and effectively link the enterprise's IT DRM activities with business operations recovery and continuity requirements on a proactive basis.</p>
Responsibilities: <h4><strong><u>1.1 Disaster Recovery</u></strong></h4> <ul> <li>Assume management responsibility for IT DR (including data-center-specific and <span class="WK-1">non-data-center-specific</span> IT infrastructure), with a major focus on achieving all financial estimates, ensuring adequacy of end-state production recovery environments, meeting all strategic planning deliverables, and coordinating activities of technology resources with key business units and development groups, as required.</li> <li>Plan, build, run and manage enterprise wide IT disaster recovery (DR) for Masonite, including IT DR strategies, plan development, plan testing and execution, playbooks and management of related IT budgets (capital and operational), annual program agendas and recovery improvement metrics.</li> <li>Participate in impact planning assessments of potential risks and disruptions to IT services, including declaring a disaster and activating the IT DR plan.</li> <li>Manage the execution and completion of all IT DR test activities. Collaborate with business unit management, external business partners and key IT staff members to plan, direct, control, maintain, and report on effective DR plan testing.</li> <li>Be responsible for technology operations recovery and ensure that IT technologies and processes support all key availability and recovery requirements &mdash; for example, crisis management, business recovery and supplier contingency.</li> <li>Manage and enforce contracts, along with associated service-level agreements (SLAs), for external IT DR service providers.</li> <li>Initiate and manage data center recovery capacity planning coordination with key IT technology groups in support of specific business unit initiatives (current, planned and new), focusing on proactively ensuring an adequate recovery network and processing environment, as well as accurate and predictive budgeting.</li> <li>Oversee the execution of IT DR plans when IT and/or major business operations disruptions occur.</li> <li>Oversee, manage, and review the root cause analysis of incidents, make appropriate adjustments to IT DR plans, playbooks, and processes. Will work with internal/external business and technical teams. Will host a post incident review process.</li> <li>Oversee the design, execution and continuous improvement of IT DR plans through rigorous exercising and management of the DR Playbook(s) used throughout Masonite.</li> <li>Manage the creation of program status communications to internal management (e.g., board of directors, the audit committee, and business unit management) and external stakeholders (including regulators, auditors and customers) regarding the status of the IT DR program, including annual reporting, audit report responses and customer requests.</li> <li>Perform all departmental administrative activities, including staff meeting attendance, monthly status reporting, budgeting, strategic planning, staff performance management, expense processing, documentation and other activities, as assigned, in a timely fashion.</li> <li>Critical Incident command and control to direct recovery efforts to stabilize and improve system conditions efficiently to minimize downtime.</li> <li>Proactively works with technical managers and product owners to drive resolution of recurring incidents.</li> <li>Fosters communication with key stakeholders through strong relationship building.</li> <li>Clearly communicates outage updates throughout the organization including the senior leadership team.</li> <li>Manipulate highly complex data and extrapolate trends and recommends solutions. Identifies opportunity trends. Presents data to leadership team regularly.</li> </ul> <p dir="DEFAULT">&nbsp;</p> <p dir="LTR"><strong><u>1.2 Change Management</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Own and lead predictive change management and control processes for Masonite IT including enforcing and improving established change management procedures, scheduling and managing change windows, performing risk assessments, providing final approval of change requests as well as leading and governing IT&rsquo;s crisis (outage) management processes.</li> <li>Develop Enterprise Change Control Policy and Incident Management Policy</li> <li>Owns the change control process and responsible for review and final approval of change requests. Consistently enforces change control processes and procedures.</li> <li>Makes recommendations for process improvements to the change, incident, or problem management processes.</li> <li>Hosts and oversees the change control board.</li> </ul> <h4><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Key Relationships</strong></span></h4> <ul> <li>Masonite&rsquo;s Director of IT Resiliency is responsible for addressing the IT operations recovery and resiliency needs of the entire company. For this reason, the leader must be prepared to work across many different internal and external organizations, and with stakeholders in many different disciplines, including senior corporate leadership, the board of directors, line-of-business (LOB) managers, IT staff, HR, legal, audit, compliance and security (information and physical), and facilities management.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <strong>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Education and Training<br /></strong> <ul> <li>BCM certifications appropriate to Masonite's needs: for example, Certified Business Continuity Professional or Master Business Continuity Professional, or a fellow in the Business Continuity Institute or master of the Business Continuity Institute, are definite pluses.</li> <li>Ongoing active participation in BCM and IT DRM forums or professional bodies.</li> <li>Understanding of and experience in applying ISO 27001, ITIL v3, DRI International (DRII) or Business Continuity Institute (BCI) professional practices, as well as industry-specific regulations and regulatory bodies.</li> </ul> <h4><strong>Experience</strong></h4> <ul> <li>At least 10 years of experience in implementing IT DR plans, including:Policy, organization and architecture development</li> <li>Data center infrastructure development and management</li> <li>Backup, recovery, storage systems and IT security management</li> <li>Vendor management of external IT DR service providers</li> <li>Recovery strategy development, and multiple plan development and maintenance</li> <li>Recovery plan testing</li> <li>Overall program management and governance</li> <li>Experience in defining, implementing and enforcing risk-based standards, processes and procedures for responding to disruptions in business or IT operations</li> <li>Minimum of five years of organizational management experience, including:Proven strategic leadership and relationship management capabilities, including experience with internal stakeholders &mdash; particularly senior and LOB management, as well as customers, external business partners and third-party service providers</li> <li>Proven competency in executing large projects, on time and within budget, with business and IT personnel</li> <li>Experience leading and managing high-performance multidisciplinary workgroups or teams to meet goals across multiple projects</li> <li>Experience in creating and defining new operational models and procedures, and explaining complex problems or situations</li> <li>Extensive experience in leading and managing groups of self-directed professionals</li> <li>A true business leader, not simply an IT or other operational specialist &mdash; strong leadership and communication skills are essential criteria for this position</li> <li>Proven ability to work under stressful conditions, such as business-related crises</li> </ul> <p dir="DEFAULT"><strong>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Required Knowledge and Skill</strong></p> <ul> <li>Thorough knowledge and understanding of current IT DR planning techniques and technologies, as well as the methods used to perform risk analyses and business impact analyses</li> <li>Working knowledge of data and voice telecommunications to guide the preparation of related recovery procedures.&nbsp;</li> <li>Strong oral communication and written communication skills</li> <li>Proven experience in the use and application of IT project and program management tools</li> <li>Experience with service management software</li> </ul>
