Overview: The Technical Services Manager assures all mechanical and electrical plant equipment is maintained and is in good operating condition to minimize downtime, optimize production, and facilitate smooth on-schedule quality production. The Technical Services Manager acts as the plant liaison between Operations, Automation Groups, Maintenance and Engineering to continuously improve manufacturing capacity, quality, and efficiency. This position implements preventative maintenance programs, meets maintenance cost and up-time goals, pre-qualifying contractors and administrative contracts for equipment installation and maintenance.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Oversight of internal and External/Contract maintenance personnel; Balancing AOP commitments &amp; metrics to deliver world-class safety and uptime</li> <li>Embrace &amp; leverage technology to improve safety, throughput and reliability using automation, digital measuring, information transfer, robotics, software and sensing systems to support Northumberland safety, growth &amp; quality initiatives.</li> <li>Effectively team with Operations, Engineering, ATS &amp; Project Management to elevate overall facility performance &ndash; a key role in site leadership.</li> <li>Technical ownership of industrial IT and automation systems</li> <li>Drives a corporate culture that focuses on facts, tangible results and behaviors</li> <li>Establish and monitor a plant-wide preventive maintenance program</li> <li>Accomplishes results by communicating expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures</li> <li>Directs physical building repair and maintenance including paving and grounds</li> <li>Achieves financial objectives by establishing objectives; developing budgets; controlling costs, maximizing the use of available assets</li> <li>Ensures ATS &amp; machine center critical spares inventory is accurate and adequate to meet uptime expectations</li> <li>Ensures efficient equipment <span class="WJ21">operation/availability</span> to meet equipment up-time OEE goals, and downtime goals for the plant as established in AOP</li> <li>Prioritizes jobs in order to meet production requirements and other department needs</li> <li>Partners with Engineering, Project Management &amp; Quality to execute the installation of commissioning of capital equipment</li> <li>Keeps abreast of emerging technology and industry practices</li> <li>Manages facility TPM Program with visual tracking of all PM/TPM activity</li> <li>Work with Safety on all LOTO / SOP updates</li> <li>Must be able to manage critical equipment spare parts inventory tracking</li> <li>Manage forklift battery overall maintenance</li> <li>Responsible for critical facility support equipment (boilers, heaters, air compressors, vehicles, etc.)</li> <li>Work with ATS on all specialized equipment testing and follow-up (vibration analysis, IR Thermo, air leaks, etc.)</li> <li>Responsible to recommend plant security initiatives</li> <li>Direct reports include building and grounds personnel, PLC staff and ATS site leader</li> </ul> <p dir="LTR"><strong>Behaviors and traits for success</strong></p> <ul> <li>Communicates and facilitates meetings effectively</li> <li>Behaves continuously and consistently with desired Masonite Blueprint values</li> <li>Proceeds with a bias toward action that delivers results</li> <li>Identifies and resolves issues skillfully and in a timely manner</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment, Matrix experience desired</li> <li>Excellent organizational skills, leadership qualities, computer literacy, and ability to supervise are essential for the candidate to perform successfully in this position</li> <li>Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access &amp; MS Project</li> <li>Works with integrity and respect displaying a high degree of tact and diplomacy</li> <li>Must be familiar with various measuring devices and analyzing information</li> <li>Good understanding of HR and Financial acumen is highly desired</li> <li>Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal</li> <li>Ability to create and drive change and effectively communicate throughout the organization, process-driven with a bias toward visual systems</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams</li> <li>Hands-on ability and willingness to troubleshoot and perform mechanics work</li> <li>Electrical background and PLC experience preferred&nbsp; (Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff experience highly desired)</li> <li>Must have a demonstrated working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and controls aspect of factory automation systems and the integration of devices used</li> <li>Formal training in PLC or PC controller programming (Rockwell Automation PLC-5, Motion Control, SLC-500, RS-Logix, SCADA)</li> <li>AutoCAD knowledge strongly desired</li> </ul> <p dir="LTR"><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree&nbsp;in Engineering or related field</li> <li>Minimum of&nbsp;8 years&rsquo; experience managing in a manufacturing maintenance department with hourly, supervisory and staff direct reports</li> <li>Strong experience with and deep understanding of PLCs</li> <li>Experience with interfacing to relational databases, information management, and reporting applications</li> <li>Must have a certification as a Six Sigma Lean Green Belt or ability to attain within 12 months</li> <li>Kaizen and 5-S experience highly desired</li> <li>Experience with maintenance management software including inventory, work-order system, and MRO</li> </ul>
