Full-Time

Overview: Champion&nbsp;for the development and improvement of the various door facing forming processes, both wood-based and sheet molding compound at the Laurel, MS location. They leverage their skills <span class="WE41">and&nbsp;tools&nbsp;to</span> eliminate waste, increase capacity, and drive costs out of the organization. They also serve as leaders to validate and standardize our processes, creating consistency in our performance. Their expertise and analytical skills also serve as the backbone to successfully launch, and land new product introductions and strategic process improvement projects.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Actively supports and assists with the execution of safety initiatives within the plant.&nbsp; All Masonite employees are expected to be leaders in safety performance.</li> <li>Responsible for systematically identifying and implementing improvement initiatives.</li> <li>Drives continuous improvement projects from inception to completion, including sustainment measures.</li> <li>Utilizes Lean tools to eliminate waste, increase capacity, and drive cost out of the process.</li> <li>Facilitates process improvement events with plant operations teams in alignment with Operational Efficiency objectives.</li> <li>Facilitates raw material qualification events in conjunction with Masonite research and plant operations teams</li> <li>Orchestrates process validation exercises</li> <li>Acts as a crucial link in capital project pipeline development with accurate data capture and thorough analysis. Also responsible for the development of process specs and CTQs to be used in capital equipment specifications.</li> <li>Provides data analysis and technical support to manufacturing and quality functions.</li> <li>Develops process documentation including work instructions, control plans, and visual aids</li> <li>Provides process related training to operations personnel to enhance troubleshooting skills</li> <li>Works with equipment suppliers, Quality Managers, and other technical staff to stabilize and control manufacturing processes if they waver.</li> <li>Serves as the process expert for the site various product dye-forming processes</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p dir="LTR">Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, Polymer or Wood Science</li> </ul> <p dir="LTR">Experience</p> <ul> <li>5+ years&rsquo; experience in driving continuous improvement in a complex manufacturing environment performing <span class="WE41">Process/Manufacturing</span> Engineering or equivalent experience.</li> <li>Experience with compression molding tooling production and maintenance a plus</li> <li>Experience with wood based panel production a plus</li> <li>SPC Experience</li> <li>Lean/Six Sigma fluency a plus.</li> <li>Demonstrated statistical data analysis skills and technical report writing skills</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to drive change</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to take initiative on a wide range of project activities and situations.</li> <li>Ability to effectively communicate and interact, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of a manufacturing organization.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to manage workload with flexibility and close attention to detail.</li> <li>Must be able to work autonomously.</li> <li>PC proficiency including MS Office. AutoCAD proficiency a plus.</li> </ul>
