Overview: The Director of Operations leads a team of Plant Managers who are responsible for driving and executing performance improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity.&nbsp; The product line is within the building industry which includes a diverse set of component manufacturing sites to support and supply residential door manufacturing.&nbsp; Plant locations encompass both The United States and Canada.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Ensure the effective operation and budget conformance of the NA Component Plants by leading the weekly and monthly Scorecard Review cadence.</li> <li>Review financial statements, sales and capacity reports, and other performance data to ensure conformance to plan. Where gaps exist to identify and implement the necessary adjustments as corrective actions.</li> <li>Lead Operations Team activity in the AOP Business Planning and Budgeting Process (Financial &amp; Capital) for the NA Component Plants.</li> <li>Partner with Sales, Product Management, Masonite Continuous Improvement, HR, and Finance in driving / supporting Business-Level Strategic Activity &amp; Investments.</li> <li>Drive adherence to Masonite&rsquo;s Lean Manufacturing processes (MVantage) in Organizational Design, Lean Management System, and usage of Lean Tools.&nbsp; The Lean Management System includes Leader Standard Work, Daily Accountability Process, Visual Controls, and Escalation / Communication processes.</li> <li>Support NPI Project activities to ensure successful and timely implementation in the NA Component Plants.</li> <li>Work through the Global Sourcing and SIOP Teams to develop and execute Operations Plans to ensure Customer Service and Supply Objectives are met.</li> <li>Support and implement the organization's Talent Management process. Develop talent at the plants to maintain and grow technical capabilities through Succession Planning.</li> <li>Create, drive and sustain a culture that promotes Employee Engagement and participation that supports achieving Masonite Objectives.</li> <li>Establish regular review cadence for key initiatives, utilize PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) principles.</li> </ul> <p dir="DEFAULT">&nbsp;</p> <p dir="LTR"><u><span class="WE41">Knowledge/Skills/Abilities</span></u></p> <ul> <li>Operations Management is a passion</li> <li>Plant Process, Automation &amp; Maintenance Engineering experiences in the background</li> <li>Functional knowledge of Supply Chain Management concepts</li> <li>Functional experience with Lean &amp; Six Sigma concepts and applications</li> <li>Functional knowledge of Quality Management Systems</li> <li>Customer Service and Product Quality focused</li> <li>Strong communication and presentation skills</li> <li>Ability to work up and down in the organization and lead cross-functional teams</li> <li>Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, &amp; Outlook</li> <li>Works with integrity, displaying a high degree of tact and diplomacy</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Plant / Multi-Plant Management experience required. Preferred in high-volume process / mechanized / automated environment</li> <li>BS in Engineering desired; MS or MBA a plus</li> </ul>
