Overview: <p dir="LTR">Masonite is a world leader in the design and manufacture of doors with comprehensive and compelling product portfolios that provide the perfect door solution for every opening &ndash; from creating beautiful homes to defining world-class commercial spaces and everything in between.&nbsp; The Masonite Innovation Center (MIC) in West Chicago, IL is the largest R&amp;D center in the world dedicated to the door industry.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="LTR">As a member of the Process Development and Support team at the MIC, this role will lead to manufacturing process development initiatives and support senior engineers.&nbsp; Work will be performed at the MIC and through travel to manufacturing plants.&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Conduct laboratory and pilot plant simulations of manufacturing processes to support new products and/or research process improvements.</li> <li>Perform studies of specific unit operations in production plants to define improvement opportunities.&nbsp; Research potential improvements and partner with an engineer to recommend process modifications.</li> <li>Conduct property and performance testing of doors and components produced during process trials.&nbsp; Analyze and present the data in team meetings.</li> <li>Support the scale-up of new processes in manufacturing plants.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Mechanical, chemical, or industrial engineering student with an interest in manufacturing process development with at least two years of undergraduate study completed.</li> <li>Proficient in Excel, Word, and Power Point.</li> <li>Should be hands on and have an ability to learn new technologies quickly.&nbsp;</li> </ul>
