Overview: <p dir="LTR">This position is responsible for leading the Supply Chain Engineering functions including (VA/VE) Engineering, Change Management Engineering and New Product Introduction (NPI) and will report to the Director, Global Sourcing &amp; Quality Engineering. This role manages a team of two direct reports and interacts closely with vendors, R&amp;D, and Operations. Manages the Material Cost Out Engineer(s) (VA/VE) team to identify opportunities by reviewing BOMs, working with the plants, R&amp;D, and suppliers.</p> <p dir="LTR">Upon identification of cost out opportunities, the VA/VE Eng will work with suppliers to execute cost projects driven by improvements in our supplier&rsquo;s process and potential changes in raw material and components. Manage the Change Management Engineer (CM) that will work closely with Global Sourcing to support cost out projects by managing with Masonite Change Process (MCP) for the sourcing group. This CM will ensure all cost out projects (material or design) comply with Masonite and Industry standards. Manage the sourcing part of New Product Introduction (NPI) by identifying opportunities of standardization, leverage volume with actual vendors globally and align implementation with Sourcing global and Centralized Procurement Teams.</p>
Responsibilities: <p dir="LTR">Set up a strategy for the Supply Chain Engineering team and continue to drive cost savings goals. Continue to actively manage one of the functions while leading the team. Assist in the identification of VA/VE cost out events. Responsible for managing the cost out a team that will conduct the following activities:</p> <ul> <li>The team will work with suppliers and MIC to review components designs, chemical make-up, etc. to identify cost out opportunities.</li> <li>The team will work with suppliers to review the supplier production process to identify savings.</li> <li>Conduct audits at Masonite facilities with the supplier to identify outsourcing savings opportunities.</li> <li>Responsible for the change management team that will be responsible for working with Global Sourcing and MIC to complete the MCP process.</li> <li>Create a formal database of test plans to streamline project timelines (work in conjunction with MIC).</li> <li>Develop and implement metrics for the team.</li> <li>Develop and implement the annual operating plan (AOP) for the Sourcing Engineering team.&nbsp;</li> <li>Work with team internal customers to identify, implement and monitor progress throughout the year.</li> <li>Ensure the team is in compliance with all internal and external regulations.</li> </ul> <p dir="DEFAULT">&nbsp;</p> <p dir="LTR"><strong><u>Leadership</u></strong></p> <p dir="LTR">Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directed. Guide, motivate and develop direct and indirect report employees. Plan, implement and control the cost and project budget in the area of responsibility. Create an environment that fosters teamwork, collaboration, flexibility and change acceptance that supports quality, standardization and cost savings. Ability to develop a team strategy.</p>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelors or Master&rsquo;s Degree required in engineering or technical area related. &nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>A minimum of 5+ years of experience in managing process change or engineering.</li> <li>Experience with at least one of the following <span class="WIA2">industries/commodities</span> &ndash; Wood (lumber, components, finished goods); metal/hardware; glass products and/or plastic component.</li> <li>Must demonstrate significant experience in project management and show successes in deployment of systems/processes.</li> <li>Demonstrated competence in cost reduction and process improvement. Six Sigma training, Lean Manufacturing and Blackbelt certification a definite plus.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to provide innovative leadership.</li> <li>Strong communication skills to effectively communicate at all organizational levels and outside suppliers.</li> <li>Strong analytical and strategic problem solving capabilities.</li> <li>Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.</li> <li>Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.</li> <li>Availability for ~40% local and international travel.</li> </ul> <div id="gtx-trans" style="position: absolute; left: -434px; top: 26px;">&nbsp;</div>
