Overview: In this role, you will provide equipment-specific, in-depth technical support for automation function and design (electrical, mechanical, and software) to support optimal production (quality, output, efficiency, etc.). You will also apply engineering knowledge and principles to devise innovative solutions to unique design challenges, and to manage a variety of projects. The ideal candidate will be very hands-on, have a high level of creativity, and be very flexible. Responsibilities: <p dir="LTR"><strong>Primary Role and Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Collaborates with system integrators to improve/troubleshoot equipment.</li> <li>Determines the root cause of failures, proposes design or component changes, and implements and validates equipment modifications.</li> <li>Applies Lean Six Sigma manufacturing principles to reduce waste and downtime, and improve quality.</li> <li>Continuously optimizes processes.</li> <li>Leads and assists production in all quality and process-related challenges.</li> <li>Maintains proper documentation of procedures, equipment changes, updates, etc.</li> <li>Utilizes knowledge of electrical and mechanical assemblies to predict equipment failure modes.</li> <li>Works with the Maintenance Supervisor to proactively set and establish preventative maintenance schedules, and communicate maintenance-related concerns.</li> <li>Generates and maintains equipment maintenance specifications to assist maintenance technicians.</li> <li>Supports technician/operator training on equipment as required.</li> <li>Maintains tool and spare part BOMs to ensure proper part availability.</li> <li>Performs trials to test the effect of equipment improvements.</li> <li>Drives projects to support business needs.</li> <li>Follows all safety practices and promotes a safe working environment</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p dir="LTR"><strong>Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's of Science in engineering in electrical, mechanical, or mechatronics or equivalent experience.</li> <li>At least two years of engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment with semi-automatic machinery such as PLC or CNC machines.</li> <li>Strong understanding of lean manufacturing.</li> <li>Proven project management experience.</li> <li>Able to communicate clearly (verbal and written) with all levels of coworkers (management, maintenance, supervisors, operators, etc.).</li> <li>Basic PLC programming knowledge and understand of SIEMEN-based technology.</li> <li>Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.</li> <li>Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen</li> <li>Availability for nights and weekends as needed.</li> </ul>
