Overview: The Auto Club is hiring for a full-time, paid internship opportunity in the CFO area in our Costa Mesa Administrative Office. Our Accounting Internship focuses on developing accounting, audit, and finance skills in preparation for a career in accounting and finance. The internship will be full time Monday &ndash; Friday and will last for up to 12 weeks.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Research and participate in special projects focusing on like the analysis of business operations.</li> <li>Assist in performing independent audits to determine the effectiveness and efficiency of operations and internal control.</li> <li>Evaluates the reliability and integrity of data that is developed by the Company.</li> <li>Evaluates adherence to Company&rsquo;s objectives, policies and procedures, and compliance with governmental laws and regulations.</li> <li>Understand and participate in the basic daily, weekly, and monthly responsibilities of the accounting department.</li> <li>Create and document current business processes.</li> <li>Participate in the coordination of recording, verifying, and transferring of financial information.</li> <li>Support the preparation of various statutory filings.</li> <li>Assist in the preparation of internal reports for management.</li> <li>Assist external and internal auditors.</li> <li>At the conclusion of the internship present your insights on the company and your personal growth story to the accounting/finance management team.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>We are looking for an intern that is committed to &lsquo;team success&rsquo;, with a desire to learn and contribute while having the initiative to look for the next opportunity independently.</li> <li>Rate of pay: $20/hour (this is a non-benefited position).</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Currently working towards or has recently completed an&nbsp;Accounting/Finance or related field.</li> <li>3 years of undergraduate course work, including classes in accounting and finance fields of study.</li> <li>Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication.</li> <li>Full commitment to the entire internship program.</li> <li>Successful completion of Auto Club pre-employment assessments, background and drug screen.</li> </ul>
