With our national brand recognition, long-standing reputation since 1902, and constantly growing membership, we are seeking career-minded, service-driven professionals to join our team.<br /><br />The Automobile Club of Southern California is seeking a professional individual for our Investment Analyst I opportunity in Costa Mesa, CA.<br /><br />The position provides support to senior executives in determining investment strategy, investing assets, evaluating investment managers and monitoring investment performance while ensuring guideline and regulatory compliance.<br /><br />The Investment Analyst position has the potential for involvement in any investment-related activity.<br /><br />General responsibilities will include the following:<br /><br /> <ul> <li>Compute performance on various accounts and composites.</li> <li>Prepare periodic performance reports for executive decision making.</li> <li>Prepare analyses on asset classes, investment types and investment strategies and make recommendations/presentations to senior management.</li> <li>Meet with potential investment managers, maintain database and assist with manager searches.</li> <li>Assist with oversight of existing investment managers.</li> <li>Assist with periodic asset allocation analyses for each entity.</li> <li>Monitor ERISA compliance (proxy voting, trading costs and soft dollars).</li> <li>Assist with due diligence and regulatory filings.</li> <li>Responsibilities also include asset/liability analyses, manager style analyses and portfolio management responsibilities.</li> </ul> <br /><strong>Benefits:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Health Coverage for Medical, Dental, Vision</li> <li>Paid time off including Vacation, Illness and Holidays</li> <li>Life Insurance</li> <li>Disability Coverage</li> <li>Pension</li> <li>401k Savings Plan</li> <li>Employee Discounts</li> </ul>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Performance Measurement &ndash; Preparation of Board reports, reports to executives, computation of investment portfolio returns. Also monitors investment manager turnover and fixed income capital gains and summarizes survey data and universe rankings.</li> <li>Management Presentations &ndash; The position will eventually require making presentations (both oral and written) to executives covering topics such as investment returns to ad hoc research projects as assigned.</li> <li>Recurring Investment Analyses &ndash; Asset/liability reviews for pensions and insurance companies, 401(k) reporting, investment manager searches, investment income and realized capital gain forecasts, custodian bank searches and investment consultant searches.</li> <li>Non-recurring Analyses &ndash; Examples include analysis of new asset classes, new strategies, and investment policy development. Other examples include analysis of investment manager benchmarks (make new benchmark recommends when appropriate) and analysis of new options for 401(k) plan.</li> <li>Cash Management &ndash; Approves wires from custodian bank, ensures that funds are available for expected cash outflows and recommends wire amounts to fund Pension disbursements.</li> <li>Compliance &ndash; Monitors compliance with investment manager guidelines, DOL regulations, insurance code and ERISA. Includes transaction survey summaries, proxy vote monitoring and verification of manager fees and directed commissions. Reviews ADV forms. Makes recommendations for changes in investment guidelines.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <strong>Qualifications</strong><br /><br />Successful candidate will have the following qualifications:<br /><br /> <ul> <li>A bachelor&rsquo;s degree is required.</li> <li>An MBA and/or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation (or candidate) is preferred.</li> <li>For non-CFAs, progress toward the CFA designation after accepting the position is a job requirement.</li> <li>Two years or more of investment-related work experience is preferred.</li> <li>Business writing experience is helpful.</li> <li>A high proficiency in Microsoft Office is required (particularly in Excel).</li> <li>A working knowledge of Bloomberg is helpful.</li> <li>We seek self-motivated, enthusiastic individuals with excellent attention to detail.</li> <li>Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with senior management, affiliated companies, other departments within the organization, and the investment community is required.</li> <li>The candidate must have excellent writing skills (must be able to provide writing samples), strong quantitative and analytical skills, strong presentation skills, and a strong interest in, and understanding of, the financial markets.</li> <li>Successful completion of Auto Club pre-employment assessments, background and drug screenings.</li> </ul> <br /><strong>Training:</strong><br /><br />Our comprehensive and employee centric training facility located in Costa Mesa provides training programs to help employees acquire various skills necessary to do their jobs and to support career development.
