Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Provides project support to Strategy, Operations, and Actuarial team</li> <li>Works with stakeholders to identify, create, and monitor various reports and key business metrics.</li> <li>Assists stakeholders in deploying strategies.</li> <li>Analyzes data for stakeholders and present analysis in a format appropriate for strategic discussion.</li> <li>Makes recommendations and presents data to appropriate personnel.</li> <li>Understands and effectively utilizes both internal and external data to address business concerns.</li> <li>Reviews predictive and analytical models for accuracy and reasonableness and leverage output to bring strategic value to the organization.</li> <li>Integrates with Predictive Modeling, Actuarial, IT, Business Performance, and Data teams to develop creative solutions to stakeholder issues.</li> <li>Assists in providing training, strategic guidance, and recommendations to various stakeholders.</li> <li>Develop proficiency with required software, data, and analytical tools (specifically Excel and VBA programming).</li> <li>Performs ad-hoc projects, research, and analysis in support of key stakeholders.</li> <li>Ensures efficient and effective use of company resources, evaluates processes and procedures, and develops new procedures.</li> <li>Develops an understanding of the Fundamental Underwriters pricing tools and provides technical support as needed.</li> <li>Prepares and delivers presentations as necessary.&nbsp;Proposes solutions for business ideas, suggestions, problems, and requirements.</li> <li>Supports the development of annual budget, goals, and objectives.</li> <li>Maintains confidentiality of information processed as appropriate.</li> <li>Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS FOR SENIOR STRATEGIC BUSINESS ANALYST:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Effectively communicates results of analyses throughout the organization with limited oversight.</li> <li>Acts as a subject matter expert and key contributor on various projects that bring strategic value to the organization.</li> <li>Leads team meetings and facilitates discussion.</li> <li>Maintains and holds a leadership role in projects requiring analytical approaches to bring strategic or operational value.</li> <li>Drives business decisions via effective communication and understanding of problems presented, analytical assumptions and solutions, and resources required to achieve desired results.</li> <li>Independently leads analyses from creation to presentation of results with key stakeholders, and then assists in implementing resulting strategies.</li> <li>Acts as a lead on innovative business solutions for all areas of the Company.</li> <li>Defines business cases and Cost-Benefit Analyses that effectively inform prioritization decisions.</li> <li>Assists management with developing and maintaining the strategy.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /><br /> <p><strong>EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in insurance, business, finance, economics, mathematics, actuarial science, or related field required.</li> <li>Combinations of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree; however advanced level coursework in economics and/or statistics is required.</li> <li>Completion of insurance industry-recognized professional designation is highly preferred.</li> <li>Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged.</li> <li>Continuous learning required, as defined by the Company&rsquo;s learning philosophy.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>ADDITIONAL EDUCATION FOR SENIOR STRATEGIC BUSINESS ANALYST:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Master&rsquo;s degree in insurance, business, finance, economics, mathematics, actuarial science, or related field required.</li> <li>Advanced-level coursework in economics and statistics is required.</li> <li>Completion of insurance industry-recognized professional designation is preferred.</li> <li>Successful completion of multiple CAS examinations preferred.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>EXPERIENCE FOR STRATEGIC BUSINESS ANALYST II:</strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Five to seven years of progressive responsibility in a business environment with demonstrated technical knowledge which provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities.</li> <li>Experience querying, analyzing, or managing data required.
