Reporting to the Divisional CIO and having a strong working alliance with the Customer Experience and Innovation Teams, the Director of Digital Technology is responsible for developing efficient, dynamic, and exceptional experiences across AF Group&rsquo;s internal and external solutions. The Director is a senior IT leadership role and will provide strategic consultation on emerging industry trends and opportunities to positively influence the company&rsquo;s strategic objectives and create transformative outcomes.</p> <p>The Director of Digital Technology will collaborate with internal stakeholders by recommending and working through technical solutions that will fulfill the goals, objectives, and vision for the company. The Director must gain expertise on AF Group&rsquo;s existing technology portfolio to ensure best practices, seamless integration, and business operations are considered. The Director will oversee a team of internal and third-party professionals that are responsible for delivering innovative customer experiences, process automation, self-service capabilities, and the seamless integration of multiple service delivery platforms.<br /><br /></p> <p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:</strong></p> <p>Work is generally performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards. Minimal travel with some overnight stays.</p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Proactively works with key stakeholders to identify problems and provide creative solutions that positively impact the organization.</li> <li>Responsible for developing strategies, programs, and solutions based on business priorities, consumer insights, and industry trends that support the digital strategy.</li> <li>Creates user-centric designs by understanding business requirements, information architecture, user journeys, customer feedback, and usability findings.</li> <li>Provides creative and business ideation employing Design Thinking and related design and innovation methods.</li> <li>Researches and evaluates new or emerging digital concepts/solutions to determine if and how they would best fit into the existing portfolio of services.</li> <li>Quickly and iteratively creates user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and mockups.</li> <li>Is instrumental in supporting AF Group&rsquo;s digital strategy and works with key stakeholders to drive these strategies to execution.</li> <li><a target="_blank">Works with business partners and fosters multidisciplinary collaboration to both create business cases and ensure the deployment of solutions that engage internal and external stakeholders and address their needs.</a></li> <li>Develops roadmaps, program plans, business cases, and realization strategies to support the digital vision.</li> <li>Manages the technical, business, and personnel aspects of consulting engagements.</li> <li>Cultivates highly functioning teams; the ability to effectively manage engagements while recognizing and leveraging the expertise of the different resources and the importance of their contributions is critical.</li> <li>Leverages an Agile and DevOps delivery model through partnering with business leaders, using effective change management, and leveraging company Agile and DevOps standards and centers of excellence (CoEs)</li> <li>Mentors and provides solutions delivery expertise to less experienced team members.</li> <li>Ensures deliverables are of the highest quality to promote client satisfaction.</li> <li>Leads the risk assessment efforts during the proposal process and recommends appropriate risk mitigation strategies.</li> <li>Performs metrics analysis to inform design and user experience optimization efforts.</li> <li>Possesses excellent communication, presentation, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>DIRECTION EXERCISED:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Directly leads exempt and non-exempt staff in accordance with company policies and applicable Federal and State Laws.</li> <li>Responsibilities include but are not limited to effectively interviewing, hiring, terminating, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and counseling employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; supporting and encouraging the engagement process.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <p><strong>EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Computer Science or related field.</li> <li>MBA or equivalent preferred.</li> <li>Combinations of relevant education, certifications, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.&nbsp;</li> <li>Continuous learning, as defined by the Company&rsquo;s learning philosophy, is required.</li> <li>Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ten years of progressive responsibility in a technology environment with demonstrated digital deliveries, technical knowledge, and industry trends.</li> <li>Minimum of five years of management required.</li> <li>Recent experience within the insurance, healthcare, or financial services industries is highly preferred.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Innovative thinker that can ideate and solution beyond capabilities that are available today.</li> <li>Broad understanding of all the business domains and brands.</li> <li>Ability to translate business goals into IT demand.</li> <li>Experience leading and delivering complex enterprise solutions and teams.</li> <li>Deep understanding of both Agile delivery and traditional project management.</li> <li>Skilled at contract management, vendor management, and negotiations.</li> <li>Leading discussions with business and technical decision-makers.</li> <li>Proven domain expertise with experience building business cases and communicating client-specific value proposition&nbsp;and establishing yourself as a trusted advisor.</li> <li>Good business and financial awareness of the impact of service levels and any associated failures.</li> <li>Deep understanding of the IT landscape with respect to development, production support, and testing.</li> <li>Knowledge of industry-leading best practices.</li> <li>Strong communication skills including excellent written and verbal skills.</li> <li>Ability to work with and empower others on a collaborative basis.</li> <li>Ability to effectively present budgetary and/or cost information and respond to questions as appropriate.</li> </ul>
