Overview: <br />The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing training curricula that improve employee performance and create a robust onboarding experience through a combination of instructor-led training, e-learning, job aids, etc. They produce high-quality learning solutions and ensure they are delivered by the facilitation team while partnering with leaders and SMEs.<br /><br /> <p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:</strong></p> <p>Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards. Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Work with stakeholders from different parts of the organization to analyze their needs and design robust training solutions that meet their needs</li> <li>Analyze whether business requests can be satisfied through training vs. other types of interventions</li> <li>Help create instructional design processes to support enhanced capabilities</li> <li>Work independently with internal subject matter experts (SMEs), training facilitators to design, develop, and deliver solutions&nbsp;</li> <li>Apply creative design to the discipline of instructional design with an emphasis on multimedia</li> <li>Develop training materials, including facilitator support guides, end-user guides, and other learning activities as needed for assigned training projects.</li> <li>Plan, coordinate, and develop support materials and communications for divisional and/or corporate projects</li> <li>Have a deep understanding of learner roles to ensure that learning solutions meet the needs of stakeholders and end-users</li> <li>Maintain knowledge of new learning approaches, technology, and tools through continuous research to ensure our solutions deliver innovation</li> <li>Develop assessments that measure learner outcomes including productivity and understanding</li> <li>Develop and communicate timelines and provide updates to stakeholders.</li> <li>Prioritize effectively to manage multiple concurrent projects and initiatives.</li> <li>May have responsibility for LMS Administrator tasks, including upload of new content, updated to existing content, and curricula creation</li> <li>Runs Quality Assurance of LMS housed training</li> <li>Management and organization of training content</li> <li>Work with facilitation team to ensure content is delivered in high quality</li> <li>Work independently with internal subject matter experts (SMEs), training facilitators to design, develop, and deliver solutions&nbsp;</li> <li>Develop training materials, including eLearning Modules, Videos, interactive PDFs, and Assessments, compatible with data tracking capabilities of the Learning Management System (LMS)</li> <li>Develop instructional programs that leverage new technologies and multimedia</li> <li>Apply interaction design and interactive learning principles to instructional solutions for adult learners</li> <li>Select, modify, and integrate existing instructional materials that employ multimedia and emerging technologies</li> <li>Collaborate with internal teams, external teams, and management to ensure requirements are being met and projects are kept on schedule.</li> <li>Coach subject matter experts at all levels on Digital Training development</li> </ul> <br /><br /> <p>All responsibilities of Instructional Designer plus:</p> <ul> <li>Serves as project lead - collaborating with leaders, managers, and staff to provide learning solutions to address business needs</li> <li>Prioritize development of training working with managers and delivery teams</li> <li>Develops ID standards, tools, and processes</li> <li>Along with manager, builds training evaluation strategy</li> <li>Works with IDs to communicate training vision, goals, and expected results</li> <li>Analyzes training data, future needs, etc., Develops reports for L&amp;G, and makes recommendations on future focus of training</li> <li>Leads large-scale, enterprise-wide/cross-brand training initiatives including project planning and organization, assessment of resource requirements, developing/conducting user needs assessments, coordinating and overseeing program content development</li> <li>Manages multiple projects simultaneously. Ensure deliverables are approved by the appropriate members of the project team and are completed in accordance with the training plan. Develops appropriate assessment and evaluation tools for training. Determines the appropriate training modality (time, delivery method) for each user in designated application as an advanced communicator to plan.&nbsp;</li> <li>Acts as backup in the absence of management</li> <li>Serves as the ID advisor for the ID team and mentors IDs</li> <li>Serves as department liaison to support enterprise and brand initiatives</li> <li>Coaches subject matter experts at all levels on content development</li> <li>Facilitates small and large group meetings</li> <li>Reports evaluation data and makes future recommendations to increase quality of design&nbsp;</li> <li>Coordinates and creates training communication plans, executes plans</li> <li>Outlines considerations and framework for training efforts and post-go-live support</li> <li>Coordinates special projects of behalf of management, as assigned</li> <li>Priorities training requests for the department</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design or related degree or ID certifications</li> <li>Master&rsquo;s Degree preferred&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Five (5) years experience in content development (ILT, VILT, eLearning)</li> <li>Five (5) years experience designing training to be developed using tools such as Captivate, Storyline, Rise, Camtasia, preferred</li> <li>Project management experience</li> <li>Experience with data analytics</li> <li>Workers' compensation/insurance experience preferred</li> <li>Experience in designing and developing computer-based training, storyboards, and lessons to be used in a variety of delivery media is required</li> <li>Knowledge of adult learning theories with the ability to create content relevance by mapping courses with perceived learner needs and planning instructional strategies relevant for wide variety of adult learners</li> <li>Experience with documentation of training</li> <li>Experience with LMS</li> <li>Technical writing skills</li> <li>Proven project leadership or employee leadership skills/experience.</li> <li>Knowledge of instructional design principles</li> <li>Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, InDesign, and Illustrator preferred</li> <li>Graphic Design or Multimedia Development experience preferred</li> <li>Strong analytical skills</li> <li>Relationship building skills &nbsp;</li> </ul>
