Overview: <br /><br />This position is responsible for architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems repair, and preventive maintenance as directed by the supervisor. Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Perform Maintenance and Repairs to Structure and Utilities (i.e. changing out breakers, installing electrical circuits, rebuilding pumps, etc.).</li> <li>Perform monthly preventive maintenance inspections to assigned buildings and equipment (i.e. adjusting belt tensions, changing out pulleys, rebuilding humidifiers).</li> <li>Respond to help desk work orders.</li> <li>Assist building specialist on work orders as assigned or requested.</li> <li>Assist Administrative department as assigned or requested (i.e. moving heavy objects, snow removal, equipment repair, etc.).</li> <li>Responsible for event setups by specifications.</li> <li>Select and set up materials and equipment to perform work order assignments.</li> <li>Operate hand tools, power tools, floor cleaning equipment.</li> <li>Clean work areas and equipment (i.e. mechanical rooms, work assignment locations, workshop, etc.).</li> <li>Report all damage and building repairs needs to the supervisor.</li> <li>Complete routine paperwork and reporting as required.</li> <li>Serves in an &ldquo;on-call&rdquo; status 24 hours per day, seven days per week as scheduled on a rotation basis, or as necessary.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <strong><br />EDUCATION REQUIRED:&nbsp;</strong><br /> <ul> <li>High School diploma or G.E.D.</li> <li>Must hold a certificate in facility maintenance in one of the following: Electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and/or general maintenance.&nbsp;</li> <li>EPA Refrigerator Recovery certification required.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><br /><strong>EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Minimum 3 years of experience in the following areas: Building repairs, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical.</li> <li>Training and experience in the safe and proper lockout hazardous energy sources on all facility systems and equipment required.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><br /><strong>SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:&nbsp;</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Ability to independently assemble materials and resources to complete assigned tasks.</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li> <li>Ability to coordinate with the work activity of others on the operations and maintenance team.</li> <li>Knowledge and ability to properly and safely use hand and power tools, testing instruments, gauges, and other devices in the performance of daily operations.</li> <li>Knowledge of practices related to the maintenance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.</li> <li>Must have the ability to work in high places.</li> <li>Ability to read and work from blueprints.</li> <li>Must be aware of all activities which may adversely impact the facility environment or the health and safety of its occupants. Maintains authority to stop any activity that negatively impacts the facility environment and must notify team leadership to solve the issue(s).</li> <li>Knowledge and compliance with all relevant Federal, State, and Local regulations are required (i.e. fire system testing, elevator testing, building codes, etc.).</li> <li>The incumbent must be qualified in the safe and proper lockout hazardous energy sources on all facility systems or equipment.</li> <li>Basic knowledge of computers and spreadsheet software.</li> <li>Ability to perform mathematical calculations.</li> <li>Ability to type alpha/numeric data accurately.</li> </ul>
