Overview: <strong>Candidates must reside in the state of Michigan.</strong><br /><br />This position is responsible for maintaining and developing Michigan Municipal League (MML) insurance presence in an assigned territory. This role is a non-commissioned &ldquo;sales and service&rdquo; role that is essential to fulfilling our commitment to the MML contracts with an emphasis on selecting risks that match with the MML&rsquo;s appetite for risk.<br /><br /><br /><em>Pay Range - Actual compensation decision relies on the consideration of internal equity, candidate&rsquo;s skills and professional experience, geographic location, market, and other potential factors. It is not standard practice for an offer to be at or near the top of the range, and therefore a reasonable estimate for this role is between $<span class="modified">80,0</span>00 and $<span class="modified">10</span>5,000.</em>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Meet with and explain liability and property insurance coverages to the designated insurance contact within a public entity.&nbsp;</li> <li>Prepare and present new and renewal insurance coverage and pricing quotations timely by mail or at council meetings as requested or required to protect public entities from financial risk.&nbsp;</li> <li>Gather or assist members in gathering new and renewal exposure data.&nbsp;</li> <li>Professionally present and respond to questions regarding coverage and exposures including workers&rsquo; compensation coverage, experience modification factors, audits and dividends.&nbsp;</li> <li>Maintain accurate and timely monthly activity logs to be shared with management and the MML client. Follow up on unpaid deductibles or accounts receivable as needed. Participate in trade show booths as assigned.&nbsp;</li> <li>Communicate with Underwriting, Loss Control, Claims, Customer Service Reps to ensure members&rsquo; needs are met and questions are answered.&nbsp;</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE</strong></p> <p><em>Relevant combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.</em></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in insurance or related field.&nbsp;</li> <li>Attain / Maintain Michigan Resident Producer / Agent license in Property and Casualty required. Accident and Health and/or surplus lines licenses encouraged.&nbsp;</li> <li>Michigan Property Casualty license must be obtained within 3 months of hire.&nbsp;</li> <li>Attain/ maintain at least one insurance designation (e.g., Chartered Property &amp; Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Certified Insurance Consultant (CIC) or IIA designation</li> <li>Minimum of 5 years of commercial insurance experience in direct insurance sales/service/ property &amp; casualty underwriting OR a minimum of 5 years&rsquo; experience in working for a public entity.</li> </ul> <p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p> <ul> <li>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
