Responsibilities: As an Associate Director at Atwell you will support and lead a team focused diverse projects with various size, scope, and detail. You will in a flexible and entrepreneurial work environment with a vibrant office culture and a national presence. Atwell is looking for civil engineering leaders that are interested in being a subject matter expert in residential, commercial, or industrial land development. Responsibilities of an Associate Director include the following:<br /><br /> <ul> <li>Manage business operations for your team</li> <li>Create annual business plan with your Project Manager(&lsquo;s) and present to VP/Regional Leader</li> <li>Establish department objectives by collaborating with team members and management</li> <li>Manage and support business development activities and support internal BD training</li> </ul> <strong>Establish team plan:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Maintain key client relationships.</li> <li>Develop future business and proactively build and maintain relationships with current and future clients.</li> </ul> <strong>Achieve financial objectives:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Manage revenue goals</li> <li>Team utilization, invoice ratio, EM, profitability</li> <li>Management of respective PM projects in terms of AR collections, effort vs contract value, project profitability, change order submission, monthly invoicing</li> <li>Risk management; contract review, proposal review, licensing review</li> <li>Manage invoices/subcontractors as needed</li> </ul> <strong>Establish product objectives:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Ensure that current company and service sector standards are met</li> <li>Ensure company templates are utilized and functional</li> <li>Manage survey equipment/fleet to ensure operational excellence</li> <li>Recommend technology improvements and justification</li> <li>Ensure operational excellence and a repeatable process for deliverables.</li> </ul> <strong>Communicate with employees:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Maintain Open Door Policy</li> <li>Communicate company objectives, reports and data</li> </ul> <strong>Develop Staff:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Performance Management: Initiate reviews, follow-up on reviews, address compensation of team members, review job titles vs. job duties, support and provide details for performance improvement plans and monitor success</li> <li>Training: Follow up on any training requested by employee&rsquo;s, identify training tools for team (Lunch &amp; Learn, Red Vector, etc.)</li> <li>Mentor staff on industry knowledge, project knowledge, process knowledge and best practices.</li> </ul> <strong>Manage staff:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Supervise and direct all members of the team with authority to recruit, interview, hire, on board, train, review, and discipline (up to, and including, termination)</li> </ul> <strong>Communicate with Human Resources:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /> <ul> <li>Requisition: Responsible to identify and communicate need to the Talent Acquisition Team.</li> <li>Onboarding new employees: Complete an onboarding plan, present the onboarding plan, assist with first timesheet.</li> <li>Workers Compensation: Understand workers compensation, remain in contact with employee, review of job duties for any modifications that can happen.</li> <li>ADA, changes in schedule due to medical conditions are coordinated with HR/VP.</li> <li>Communicate any performance issues to HR for documentation, and termination of employees once approved by HR.</li> <li>Offboarding employees: Contact HR immediately of any resignations, communicate around any licenses that the employee has, collect employee&rsquo;s assets.</li> </ul> <strong>Responsible for Health &amp; Safety:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Understand the safety manuals and protocol related to onboarding, training, enforcement, and reporting.</li> <li>Awareness of the safety aspects/requirements of projects from a team perspective and appropriate engagement, direction and training with safety for the support needed</li> <li>Approve timesheets and PTO, expense reports and corporate credit card expenses.</li> <li>Maintain professional and technical knowledge:</li> <li>Attend educational workshops.</li> <li>Review professional and market segment publications.</li> <li>Establish personal networks.</li> <li>Participate in applicable professional societies and trade associations.</li> <li>Promote internal communication and encourage dialogue within project teams, across market sectors, and throughout organization.</li> <li>Excellent communication skills; oral &amp; written as well as listening skills.</li> </ul> <br /><br />#LI-MM1<br /><br /> <h2 class="iCIMS_InfoMsg iCIMS_InfoField_Job">&nbsp;</h2> <div class="iCIMS_InfoMsg iCIMS_InfoMsg_Job">&nbsp;</div>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree required. JD, MBA or other advanced degree may be preferred</li> <li>Licenses and certifications highly desired (ex: PE, RLA, PS, PHR, etc.)</li> <li>Eight (8) plus years of experience in related field</li> <li>Ability to train and mentor project team</li> <li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills required</li> <li>Experience utilizing Vision as a project management tool preferred.</li> </ul>
