Overview: Business Operations Analysts (BOA’s) represent Wal-Mart business operations in prioritizing, analyzing and documenting business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement/efficiency and negotiating agreements and commitments between business partners (internal and external), operations and IT from requirements gathering to implementation.  BOA’s work directly with clients/leadership at various levels within the company and with outside parties to research and identify operational business requirements with sufficient detail and clarity to allow staff to collaboratively develop the solution.
Responsibilities: <ul><li>Draft business requirements that clearly articulate the functions, goals, and metrics required to translate into technical requirements. </li><li>Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations when necessary and in a timely manner. </li><li>Diagnose and track down any functional issues to a root or functional cause. </li><li>Develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members, internal partners, customers and others through the use of good interpersonal skills. </li><li>Coordinate with respective areas to resolve issues and develop processes to accomplish shared goals. </li><li>Effectively deal with change in a fast paced demanding environment while maintaining a positive and cooperative attitude. </li><li>Act as a business operations/SME to the business leadership or operations to influence, manage change, and educate for priority setting to ensure business commitments and objectives are met. </li><li>Participate in cross-functional work sessions with both business and IT resources to capture stakeholder needs and required system requirements/features. </li><li>Act as Project Manager identifying the goals and objectives, success criteria, action items/deliverables and task owners responsible for completing a project. </li><li>Manage project timelines, workflow and administrative tasks in order to meet deadlines and budget constraints in accordance with project requirements. </li><li>Participate in documentation and analysis of detailed functional requirements delivered to IT for development/implementation. </li><li>Participate in the analysis and development of system solution design for existing and new capabilities using a thorough understanding of business process and requirements as well as system capabilities and architecture. </li><li>Participate in multi-departmental, small to medium projects and change initiatives. </li><li>Initiate problem analysis, explore solutions, prepare and present information. </li><li>Participate in client meetings and engage clients when appropriate. </li><li>Provide customer support and post implementation monitoring during initial rollout. </li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
Requirements: <ul><li>1 to 3 years experience as a business or systems analyst.  </li><li>Experience at working independently or assisting senior analyst in the design of technical business processes.  </li><li>Experience with Project Management Methodology (PMM) including the development of project plans/documentation preferred. </li><li>Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project preferred. </li><li>Experience with analytical tools and flowcharting tools such as Microsoft Visio preferred. </li><li>Must be motivated, energetic; possess strong organizational skills as well as excellent people and team building skills. </li><li>Team oriented and multi-tasked with exceptional organizational skills </li><li>Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment </li><li>Good communication skills (written & oral). </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook. </li><li>Ability to shift priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.  Competent and good understanding of Microsoft Windows. </li><li>Knowledge of software development lifecycle.  </li><li>Good working knowledge of current Internet, mobile/technology trends and familiarity with client/server environments.
