Overview: <p>This is a&nbsp;<strong>work-from-home</strong>&nbsp;opportunity, open to anywhere in the&nbsp;<strong>United States</strong>&nbsp;.</p> <p>The Category Manager provides a high level of support for the implementation of Category Management and other related business insights initiatives within a designated customer.</p> <p>You will regularly meet with multi-division retailers in the market along with business managers to drive category management initiatives. As well as manage major projects or programs in the areas of space, merchandising, pricing requirements in assigned categories and have a long term effect on business results.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li> <p>Analyze complex data and provide thoughtful, proactive guidance and recommendations that address the 4-Ps (product, pricing, promotion, placement).</p> </li> <li> <p>Lead and direct the category review process through the 3-call process while engaging with cross-functional teams to provide a complete category management solution.</p> </li> <li> <p>Build compelling sales presentations using syndicated, shopper and other sources of data that provide in-depth analysis and solutions that address current business issues.</p> </li> <li> <p>Understand client KPIs that drive profit and sales and deliver data reports to scorecard or validate progress.</p> </li> <li> <p>Work closely and often with assigned clients and business managers by setting up regular meetings to become a trusted advisor.</p> </li> <li> <p>Provide follow up and summarize results of analysis; create case studies and success stories.</p> </li> <li> <p>Attend sales calls at assigned customers.</p> </li> <li> <p>Meeting the physical requirements &ndash; listed below</p> </li> <li> <p>Other duties as assigned</p> </li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>Education Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma/GED</p> </li> <li> <p>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree (preferred)</p> </li> <li> <p>Related work experience can be substituted for educational requirement</p> </li> <li> <p>Category Management Certification Preferred</p> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Work Experience Requirements</strong>&nbsp;:</p> <ul> <li>3-5 years related work experience</li> </ul> <p><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>Must possess a solid working knowledge of the CPG industry (data sources, tools, concepts, etc.). Must be proficient in industry tools utilized in the completion of the work assigned.</p> </li> <li> <p>Must be able to demonstrate an advanced degree of proficiency in Windows and related software applications including Excel, PowerPoint, VB, advanced macro&rsquo;s, Power BI as needed.</p> </li> <li> <p>Demonstrates advanced skill in plan preparation, delivering effective solutions.</p> </li> <li> <p>Able to extrapolate opportunities to drive results based on analysis of a business challenge or opportunity.</p> </li> <li> <p>Communicates clearly and effectively while understanding and adapting to audience.</p> </li> <li> <p>Independently manages and, at times, leads project plans and assumes responsibility for tracking, communication and timing.</p> </li> <li> <p>Able to breakdown larger problems into smaller components and potential resolutions.</p> </li> <li> <p>Builds and maintains effective relationships with stakeholders, gaining trust and respect, leading to optimal execution of results.</p> </li> <li> <p>Executing against strategic objectives by developing tactical plans.</p> </li> </ul>
