Overview: The Director, Food Service is responsible for developing and managing sales through the execution of Acosta’s sales initiatives and the introduction and implementation of sales plans and programs for distributor and operator accounts.  The Director, Food Service is regularly accessible to and in contact with the Sales team, manufactures, distributors, and key customers in order to stay up-to-date on sales related developments.  This position works closely with the Sales team on objective planning and prioritization to ensure product and account penetration and is actively involved in following up with and supporting the Sales team.  Additionally, the Director, Food Service provides a clear and concise direction to staff and manages sales objectives against an annual operating plan.  This position continuously works to balance and manage the needs of distributors and clients with Acosta’s sales objectives.
Responsibilities: <ul><li>Helps define and administer sales plans and objectives in conjunction with the Sales management team; monitors and manages the established goals within the local market and adjusts business plans based on the market’s performance to the assigned plan </li><li>Works with Account Manages to identify potential customers and channels of business and pursues appropriate opportunities; manages customers to further the business relationship and identify opportunities for sales </li><li>Provides sales results and updates to manufactures as requested </li><li>Develops close working relationship with the Sales team and coordinates training necessary for them to understand and execute the company’s focus and sales goals </li><li>Works with the Account Managers to deliver on high level goals and targets against key objectives for major customer and client accounts </li><li>Collaborates with senior Sales team members to develop and implement a company driven sales plan for revenue growth </li><li>Conducts regular review meetings with Sales team management to share and exchange ideas, successes, failures, and review progress towards goals </li><li>Monitors the activities of competitors and develops effective solutions and programs to compete with their competitive initiatives </li><li>Maintains active knowledge of product offerings and seeks opportunities to place additional products                                  </li><li>Maintains key client relationships and develops and implements strategies for expanding the Sales team’s client base </li><li>Oversees the hiring and development of the Sales organization </li><li>Ensures distributor and overall market performance reports are being sent on a timely basis </li><li>Evaluates the performance of the Sales team regularly and conducts bi-annual performance reviews </li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>10 or more years of sales or marketing experience, preferably in the Foodservice industry</li> <li>Foodservice experience including Key Operator and Distributor negotiation</li> <li>Experience managing teams and directing and motivating staff</li> <li>Experience analyzing sales and marketing information needed to make effective sales presentations</li> <li>Solid understanding of the fundamental principles of financial management and experience monitoring and controlling expenses</li> <li>A positive, professional, and proactive attitude</li> <li>Excellent communication abilities</li> <li>Strong planning and organizational skills</li> <li>Ability to organize, execute and monitor sales plans</li> <li>Strong interpersonal, presentation, negotiation, and sales skills</li> <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite</li> <li>Must have a valid driver&rsquo;s license.</li> </ul>
