Overview: <p class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">The House Manager acts as a key member of the I/DD Direct Service Support Team who is responsible for monitoring their assigned work sites homes per the direction of their supervisor and expediting all services required with assigned Adjoin clients, their homes and staffing. The purpose of this role is to promote the dignity, safety, independence, choices, rights and responsibilities of Adjoin clients through the execution of the HM job responsibilities.&nbsp; The HM will also exemplify Adjoin&rsquo;s vision and meet standards of quality, safety, satisfaction and goals of the client to optimize quality of life and independence.</span></p>
Responsibilities: <p class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">The House Manager may be responsible for, but not limited to, the following essential duties:</span></p> <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Maintain positive communications and relationships with his/her supervisor, other staff members, and the clients we serve.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Maintain documentation relevant to the program(s)</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Provide oversight of direct care staff in the assigned home(s) to ensure good quality of care to clients.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Maintain a safe, healthy, and positive living environment for the assigned clients.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Be involved in personnel issues concerning direct care staff such as disciplinary action, reviews, training, etc.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Provide direct service at least 70% of logged time.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Responsible for maintaining supplies in the home (groceries, safety equipment, forms, etc.)</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Carry the On-Call pager as needed.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Provide direct service as needed and required.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Other duties as assigned.</span></li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">18 years of age or older </span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">High School diploma or its equivalent</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Must have six months experience working with individuals with disabilities <em class="ignore-global-css">and/or</em> two semesters of training in a related field.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Ability to follow instructions is critical to this position. </span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and manage time is also an essential component of this position. </span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate and maintain professional boundaries as custodian of confidential information.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Certification in an approved First-Aid and CPR class; or successfully complete an approved First-Aid and CPR class within 45 days of the date of hire.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Insured, registered vehicle in safe working condition, and proof of current driver&rsquo;s license.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Adjoin&rsquo;s client case management platform requires employees to utilize a mobile smart device (i.e. cellphone/tablet) with reliable internet connectivity and data to complete certain essential job tasks. This position requires the employee to have a mobile smart device available to perform certain required essential functions, for which reasonable reimbursement is provided to the employee. </span></li> </ul> <p class="ignore-global-css"><strong class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Position Requirements:</span></strong></p> <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Ability to travel within and throughout the counties in which services are provided a minimum of 75% of the time.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Ability to travel in and throughout the state on a quarterly basis to attend meetings, trainings, etc. </span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and background check.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Physical evaluations may be required dependent upon specific assigned duties or compliance requirements and may include a TB test and/or a lift and transfer test.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Acceptable DMV record</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">This position requires all employees to be fully vaccinated and boosted against Covid-19</li> </ul> <br /> <p class="ignore-global-css"><strong class="ignore-global-css">Working Conditions &amp; Physical Demands:</strong></p> <p class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Some of our clients are physically impaired and require assistance into and out of wheelchairs and other assistive devices.&nbsp; The House Manager must be able to perform such tasks on an urgent or emergency basis.</span></p> <p class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Many of the jobs/activities in which our clients engage require physical exertion on the part of the Adjoin staff person (i.e., walking (75% of workday), climbing stairs (10% workday but on a frequent basis), lifting (10% of workday but on a frequent basis), stretching, bending, etc.).&nbsp; A House Manager must have the ability to talk, hear, and see in order to assist the client in his/her/their quest for independence. This position requires the employee to regularly stand, walk, sit, talk and hear.&nbsp; Capable of writing, using a computer keyboard, telephone and related office equipment.&nbsp; Ability to lift 25lbs required.&nbsp; </span></p> <p class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Responsible for the safety and well-being of a disabled client they are providing service for. Must be able to react appropriately and quickly in the event of an emergency such as client elopement, a natural disaster, fire or other unforeseen circumstance. An appropriate reaction might be having to follow or, help the client evacuate in the event of a fire or emergency which may involve ascending or descending stairs, walking a significant distance, or being able to summon emergency responders. </span></p> <p class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Appropriate and professional dress is expected. </span></p> <p class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">In the field, the employee will be working in community environments, employment sites and office environments. Potential exposure to noisy environments at job sites. Exposure to blood borne pathogens could occur. (Hepatitis B vaccines are offered to all employees at no cost to the employee.) </span></p> <p class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Must be capable of making on-site visits to clients. Often these on-site visits are at a distance from the office and no regular means of public transportation exists. Overnight travel is rare but may be required for training and as part of a participant&rsquo;s program. The House Manager is expected to perform duties assigned during hours needed to meet client needs, which means that the schedule may include evenings, weekends, holidays or other non-typical work hours.</span></p>
