Responsibilities: <p class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css"><strong class="ignore-global-css">Client Support:</strong></span></p> <p class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Adjoin helps individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities of varied backgrounds, interests, and abilities to achieve their life plan in the communities where they live, work, learn, and play. Person-centered thinking and planning is at the heart of what we do. This is a critical duty that helps every member of the client&rsquo;s support team communicate and collaborate to maximize the effectiveness of the services the client receives. A requirement of the DSP position is the ability to complete this documentation within the system and meet all appropriate deadlines.</span></p> <p class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css"><strong class="ignore-global-css">Transportation:</strong></span></p> <p class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">The Direct Support&nbsp;Professional must be capable of making on-site visits to clients, agencies and employers. Often these on-site visits are at a distance from the office and no regular means of public transportation exists. Overnight travel is rare, but may be required for training and as part of a client's program. A Direct Support&nbsp;Professional may transport a client as part of his/her/their job duties.</span></p> <p class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Adjoin does not furnish transportation or vehicles for its employees however, mileage is reimbursed. A reliable means of transportation, valid California license and insurance is required.</span></p>
Requirements: <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Must be 18 years of age or older with a minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Adjoin employees must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated and boosted if eligible.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">A reliable means of transportation, valid California license and insurance is required.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">This position requires the employee to have a mobile smart device available to perform certain required essential functions, for which reasonable reimbursement is provided to the employee.</span></li> <li class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Preferred: Experience working with vulnerable populations.</span></li> </ul> <p class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css"><strong class="ignore-global-css">Physical Requirements:</strong></span></p> <p class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Some of our clients are physically impaired and require assistance into and out of wheelchairs and other assistive devices. The Direct Support&nbsp;Professional must be able to perform such tasks on an urgent or emergency basis. Many of the jobs/activities in which our clients engage require physical exertion on the part of the Adjoin staff person (i.e., walking (75% of workday), climbing stairs (10% workday but on a frequent basis), lifting (10% of workday but on a frequent basis), stretching, bending, etc.). A Direct Support&nbsp;Professional must have the ability to talk, hear, and see in order to assist the client in his/her/their quest for independence.</span></p> <p class="ignore-global-css"><span class="ignore-global-css">Adjoin is committed to the full inclusion of all qualified individuals.
