Responsibilities: <br /> <p class="ignore-global-css">The benefits Coordinator acts as a vital role within the Adjoin Veterans program. The purpose of this role is to assist/support veterans in navigating an array of benefit resources.&nbsp;The benefits Coordinator role exemplifies Adjoin Veterans core values of integrity, compassion, integrity, innovation and people.&nbsp;</p> <p class="ignore-global-css">The AV Benefits Coordinator is the case responsible staff member chosen to be responsible for but not limited to performing the following essential job duties:&nbsp;<br /><br /><strong>Job Duties</strong>&nbsp;</p> <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css"> <p class="ignore-global-css">Deliver and interpret Benefits Screenings.</p> </li> <li class="ignore-global-css"> <p class="ignore-global-css">Support clients in completing benefits applications.</p> </li> <li class="ignore-global-css"> <p class="ignore-global-css">Support clients in scheduling and attending benefits appointments.</p> </li> <li class="ignore-global-css"> <p class="ignore-global-css">Advocating and providing follow-up for clients regarding benefits eligibility and receipt issues.&nbsp;</p> </li> <li class="ignore-global-css"> <p class="ignore-global-css">Maintain positive communications and relationships with individuals in cooperative agencies, employers, involved members of families and clients.&nbsp;</p> </li> <li class="ignore-global-css"> <p class="ignore-global-css">Reports to the Intake Coordinator.</p> </li> <li class="ignore-global-css"> <p class="ignore-global-css">Complete in a timely manner all logs, reports and client evaluations as required.&nbsp;</p> </li> <li class="ignore-global-css"> <p class="ignore-global-css">Provide direct service as needed and required.&nbsp;</p> </li> <li class="ignore-global-css"> <p class="ignore-global-css">Provides and attends all required meetings and in-services as assigned.&nbsp;</p> </li> <li class="ignore-global-css"> <p class="ignore-global-css">Perform all other job duties as assigned.&nbsp;</p> </li> </ul> <br /> <p class="ignore-global-css"><strong class="ignore-global-css">Documentation:</strong></p> <p class="ignore-global-css">Benefit Coordinators&nbsp;are responsible for keeping client records. This is a critical duty that helps every member of the client&rsquo;s support team communicate and collaborate to maximize the effectiveness of the services the client receives. A requirement of the position is the ability to complete this documentation within the system and meet all appropriate deadlines.</p> <p class="ignore-global-css"><strong class="ignore-global-css">Transportation:</strong></p> <p class="ignore-global-css">The Benefits Coordinator must be capable of making on-site visits to clients, agencies and employers. Often these on-site visits are at a distance from the office and no regular means of public transportation exists. Overnight travel is rare, but may be required for training and as part of a client's program.&nbsp;A Benefits Coordinator&nbsp;may transport a client as part of his/her/their job duties.</p> <p class="ignore-global-css">Adjoin does not furnish transportation or vehicles for its employees however, mileage is reimbursed. A reliable means of transportation, valid California license and insurance is required.</p>
Requirements: <br /> <p class="ignore-global-css"><strong class="ignore-global-css">SKILLS &amp; EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css"> <p class="ignore-global-css">18 years of age or older.</p> </li> <li class="ignore-global-css"> <p class="ignore-global-css">Bachelor&rsquo;s degree or three years equivalent experience and/or educational equivalent in working with individuals with disabilities and/or Veterans.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> </li> <li class="ignore-global-css"> <p class="ignore-global-css">Since this position requires a great deal of interaction with people, well-developed interpersonal skills are critical.&nbsp;Demonstrated computer literacy and capability to maintain well-organized records and files.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> </li> <li class="ignore-global-css"> <p class="ignore-global-css">Ability to follow instructions is critical to this position.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> </li> <li class="ignore-global-css"> <p class="ignore-global-css">Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and manage time is also an essential component of this position.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> </li> <li class="ignore-global-css"> <p class="ignore-global-css">Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate and maintain professional boundaries as custodian of confidential information.&nbsp;</p> </li> <li class="ignore-global-css"> <p class="ignore-global-css">Certification in an approved First Aid and CPR class; or successfully complete an approved First Aid and CPR class within 45 days of the date of hire.&nbsp;</p> </li> <li class="ignore-global-css"> <p class="ignore-global-css">Ability to travel for meetings, conferences, seminars and training.&nbsp;</p> </li> <li class="ignore-global-css"> <p class="ignore-global-css">Insured, registered vehicle in safe working condition, and proof of current CA driver&rsquo;s license.&nbsp;</p> </li> <li class="ignore-global-css"> <p class="ignore-global-css">Adjoin&rsquo;s client case management platform requires employees to utilize a mobile smart device (i.e., cell phone/tablet) with reliable internet connectivity and data to complete certain essential job tasks. This position requires the employee to have a mobile smart device available to perform certain required essential functions, for which reasonable reimbursement is provided to the employee.</p> </li> </ul> <br /> <p class="ignore-global-css"><strong class="ignore-global-css"><br />PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:&nbsp;</strong></p> <p class="ignore-global-css">&nbsp;</p> <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css">Ability to travel within and throughout the counties in which services are provided a minimum of 75% of the time.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Ability to travel in and throughout the state on a quarterly basis to attend meetings, trainings, etc.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and background check.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Acceptable DMV record.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Physical evaluations may be required dependent upon specific assigned duties or compliance requirements and may include a TB test and/or a lift and transfer test.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">This position requires employees to be fully vaccinated and boosted against Covid-19.</li> </ul> <br /><br /> <p class="ignore-global-css"><strong class="ignore-global-css">WORK &amp; PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li class="ignore-global-css">This position requires the employee to regularly stand, walk, sit, talk and hear.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Capable of writing, using a computer keyboard, telephone and related office equipment.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Ability to lift 25lbs required.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Appropriate and professional dress is expected.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">When in the office, this position will normally spend long periods of time in a sitting position (60% of the day). He/she/they may use a computer, which would involve repetitive finger, hand and wrist motion (60% of the day) and require being able to see the computer screen (60% of the day). When in the field, other physical exertion could involve walking, climbing stairs, lifting, stretching, bending, etc.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">In the field, the employee will be working in community environments, employment sites and office environments. Potential exposure to noisy environments at job sites. Exposure to blood borne pathogens could occur. (Hepatitis B vaccines are offered to all employees at no cost to the employee).</li> </ul> <br /> <p class="ignore-global-css"><strong class="ignore-global-css">OTHER REQUIREMENTS:<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul class="ignore-global-css"> <li class="ignore-global-css">The Housing Coordinator&nbsp;must be capable of making on-site visits to clients, agencies and employers. Often these on-site visits are at a distance from the office and no regular means of public transportation exists. Overnight travel is rare&nbsp;but may be required for training and as part of a client's program. A House Manager may transport a client as part of his/her job duties.&nbsp;</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">Adjoin does not furnish transportation or vehicles for its employees however, mileage is reimbursed. A reliable means of transportation, valid California license and insurance is required.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">He/she/they must successfully pass a screening for illicit drug use prior to employment.</li> <li class="ignore-global-css">He/she/they must possess a record clear from past felonious criminal activity and submit to a Department of Justice criminal activity background check.</li> </ul>
