If you are interested in serving your community and becoming a valued asset to our team, please read ahead! <br /><br />We are looking for exceptional individuals to work with our clients as a Community Support Specialist in our Tailor Day Program. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Provide assistance with post-secondary education for individuals who are attending or want to attend college</li> <li>Engage in social or recreational opportunities for individuals that may require assistance accessing and participating in recreational activities</li> <li>Aid in employment opportunities for individuals seeking vocational training, volunteer opportunities, or job opportunities</li> <li>Help implement strategies that are specific to clients and help them achieve their goals</li> <li>Work during the day and out in the community with clients</li> </ul> <br />The goal of this program is to provide 1-to-1 support in a style that is customized to fit the needs of any client. As a Community Support Specialist and part of our team, you will build professional relationships that inspire clients to reach their potential. Requirements: <ul> <li>Must be 18 years of age or older with a minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent.</li> <li>Must successfully complete a Red Cross approved First Aid and CPR class within 45 days of the date of hire OR already possess a Red Cross approved First-Aid certificate.</li> <li>Must have demonstrated knowledge and experience in navigating through post-secondary educational processes such as enrolling in college, accessing educational and institutional resources, and completing requirements associated with successful educational experience.</li> <li>Must have one year of experience in a Social Service setting, assisting disadvantaged, distressed, or vulnerable persons or groups.</li> </ul> <strong>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</strong> Some of our clients are physically impaired and require assistance into and out of wheelchairs and other assistive devices. The employee must be able to perform such tasks on an urgent or emergency basis. Many of the jobs/activities in which our clients engage require physical exertion on the part of the Adjoin staff person (i.e., walking (75% of workday), climbing stairs (10% workday but on a frequent basis), lifting (10% of workday but on a frequent basis), stretching, bending, etc.). The employee must have the ability to talk, hear, and see in order to assist the client in his/her quest for independence. * OTHER REQUIREMENTS:*<br /> <ul> <li>Must be capable of making on-site visits to clients, agencies and employers. Often these on-site visits are at a distance from the office and no regular means of public transportation exists.</li> <li>Adjoin does not furnish transportation or vehicles for its employees however, mileage is reimbursed. A reliable means of transportation, valid California license and insurance is required.</li> <li>He/she/they must successfully pass a screening for illicit drug use prior to employment.</li> <li>He/she/they must possess a record clear from past felonious criminal activity and submit to a Department of Justice criminal activity background check.</li> <li>Adjoin&rsquo;s client case management platform requires employees to utilize a mobile smart device(i.e. cell phone/tablet) with reliable internet connectivity and data to complete certain essential job tasks. This position requires the employee to have a mobile smart device available to perform certain required essential functions, for which reasonable reimbursement is provided to the employee</li> </ul>
