Responsibilities: <h4><strong>Talent Acquisition &amp; Workforce Planning</strong></h4> <ul> <li> <h4>Develop and execute strategic recruitment and retention plans aligned with organizational growth objectives.</h4> </li> <li> <h4>Strengthen employer branding and ensure inclusive hiring practices that effectively reach bilingual and multicultural communities.</h4> </li> <li> <h4>Ensure compliant hiring practices, background checks, and onboarding processes.</h4> </li> <li> <h4>Regularly communicate employment expectations, policies, and onboarding materials in English and Spanish to ensure full understanding and equitable access for team members whose primary language is Spanish.</h4> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Team Member Engagement &amp; Organizational Culture</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead team member engagement initiatives, onboarding programs, wellness strategies, and professional development efforts.</li> <li>Deliver trainings, compliance updates, and organizational communications in both English and Spanish to ensure clarity, accessibility, and consistent understanding across a multilingual workforce.</li> <li>Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives reflective of the communities served.</li> <li>Model and reinforce Adjoin&rsquo;s mission, values, and standards of conduct.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Performance Management &amp; Leadership Development</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design and oversee performance management systems aligned with organizational goals.</li> <li>Establish measurable objectives and accountability standards.</li> <li>Deliver leadership development, compliance training, and professional development programs in English and Spanish as required to support team member comprehension and participation.</li> <li>Support succession planning and staff development initiatives.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Team member Relations &amp; Risk Management</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide leadership and oversight of team member relations matters, investigations, and conflict resolution.</li> <li>Conduct team member interviews, investigations, corrective action meetings, and grievance discussions in English and Spanish to ensure accurate fact-finding and equitable treatment.</li> <li>Clearly communicate complex employment laws, policies, disciplinary decisions, and procedural rights in both languages to mitigate organizational risk and ensure consistent application of standards.</li> <li>Partner with executive leadership and legal counsel as appropriate.</li> <li>Oversee leave administration (FMLA/CFRA), workers&rsquo; compensation, and EDD matters, ensuring regulatory requirements are accurately communicated to team members whose primary language is Spanish.</li> </ul> <p><strong>HR Compliance &amp; Policy Administration</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ensure compliance with all applicable California and federal employment laws and regulations.</li> <li>Develop, update, and administer HR policies, handbooks, and procedures.</li> <li>Regularly communicate complex employment policies and regulatory requirements to team members, stakeholders, and community partners.</li> <li>Ensure bilingual communication supports equitable access to information, accurate interpretation of employment laws, risk mitigation, and consistent implementation of organizational standards across a multilingual workforce</li> <li>Oversee personnel file management, HRIS administration, reporting, and data integrity.</li> <li>Maintain OSHA, safety, IIPP, and CARF-related compliance standards</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Leadership, Business Administration, or related field.</li> <li>Seven (7)+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least five (5) years in a leadership role.</li> <li>Extensive knowledge of California employment law and federal labor regulations.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience in team member relations, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance.</li> <li>Strong leadership, communication, emotional intelligence, and change management skills.</li> <li>Proficiency in HRIS systems and HR technology platforms.</li> <li>Fluency in English and Spanish (written and verbal) required to ensure equitable access to information, accurate interpretation of employment laws and policies, risk mitigation, and consistent application of organizational standards across a multilingual workforce.</li> <li>Valid California driver&rsquo;s license, reliable transportation, and acceptable DMV record</li> </ul> <h4><strong>Position Requirements:</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Ability to travel within and throughout the areas in which services are provided up to 30% of the time.</li> <li>Ability to travel in and throughout the state on a quarterly basis to attend meetings, trainings, etc.</li> <li>Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and background check.</li> <li>Acceptable DMV record.</li> </ul> <h4><strong>Work Requirements:</strong></h4> <ul> <li>This position operates in both office and community-based environments. Essential functions require prolonged sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, and regular use of a computer, keyboard, telephone, and standard office equipment. The role involves extended periods of computer use, repetitive hand and wrist motion, and visual focus on a computer screen. Occasional physical activity may include climbing stairs, bending, stretching, and lifting up to 25 pounds.</li> <li>Work is performed in typical office conditions with moderate noise levels; community settings may involve varying environmental conditions and potential exposure to loud environments or bloodborne pathogens.</li> <li>Professional attire consistent with organizational standards is required.</li> <li>Reasonable accommodations will be provided in accordance with applicable federal and California disability laws to enable qualified individuals to perform the essential functions of the position.</li> <li>The Head of People is expected to perform assigned duties during regular business hours. Due to the organization&rsquo;s 24/7 service operations, this position must also be available to work evenings and weekends as necessary to address operational or team member matters.</li> </ul>
