This role is ideal for someone who is creative, organized, and dedicated to using the arts as a tool for expression, inclusion, and personal growth.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>The Creative Arts Coordinator will be responsible for developing and leading engaging arts and crafts programs tailored to a variety of skill levels and abilities. This includes planning and facilitating structured class sessions, introducing diverse artistic techniques, and encouraging individual creativity in a supportive environment.</li> <li>Coordinate and execute a daily routine of arts education and facilitation with the support of direct support professionals at a ratio of 1:4.&nbsp;</li> <li>The Creative Arts Coordinator will use trauma-informed knowledge to create a safe environment that respects the individual experiences of all of its participants.</li> <li>The Creative Arts Coordinator will exemplify Adjoin&rsquo;s vision and meet standards of quality, safety, satisfaction, and goals of the client to optimize quality of life and independence.</li> <li>Promote the development of art by its program participants by procuring raw materials and a variety of artistic media to support the vision and goals of the participants.&nbsp;</li> <li>Develop and execute monthly, community-based arts-focused events for program participants.</li> <li>Collaborate with area artists to bring meaningful learning opportunities into the art space on a regular basis and provide additional education and insight into art education, presentation, and technique.</li> <li>Facilitate the development of client art from inception to finished product and assist with pricing and sale of artwork at the Adjoin Creative Arts Store.</li> <li>Implement individual training and support programs under the direction of the case responsible person.</li> <li>Maintain positive communications and relationships with his/her supervisor, clients, landlords, involved family members, Regional Center, and other community members.</li> <li>Participate in the evaluation of the client through completion of requested assessment devices.</li> <li>Document required activity records, reports, incidents, and client evaluations in a timely, complete, and accurate manner as required.</li> <li>Provide positive advocacy to ensure the individual&rsquo;s preferences, needs or talents are considered and respected.&nbsp;</li> <li>Oversee client activities and environment throughout shift to ensure the fulfillment of health and safety needs.&nbsp;</li> <li>Assist with training employees to perform their direct service duties in accordance with the policies and procedures of Adjoin.</li> <li>Prepare and maintain current staffing schedules and coordinate new staff training schedules.</li> <li>Monitor and report to case responsible person on client and employee activities.</li> <li>Complete CSPs, monthly/quarterly reports, evaluations, intakes, and assessments under the direction of the case responsible person.</li> <li>Review activity logs of clients and report significant events or concerns to case responsible person.</li> <li>Transport clients to appointments, community activities, or other locations as needed, ensuring safety and timeli-ness during travel.</li> <li>Additional responsibilities include coordinating art supplies and materials, maintaining an organized creative space, collaborating with staff and participants, and supporting opportunities for community involvement through art displays or exhibitions.</li> <li>Other duties as assigned.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>18 years of age or older.</li> <li>Bachelors in Fine Arts, Education or related field and/or 3+ years of creative arts and/or teaching experience.</li> <li>Ability to develop a varied daily curriculum of site-based art facilitation, arts education, and community-based art experience.</li> <li>Ability to assist in the management of a program and store associated with Adjoin Creative Arts Program.</li> <li>The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the arts and crafts field, including coordinating or participating in art exhibitions, organizing creative projects, and managing art-related events. The individual should be comfortable guiding group activities, adapting instruction to meet individual needs, and fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere.</li> <li>Aptitude for confidentiality, organizational skills and good interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Strong communication skills, creativity, patience, and a genuine passion for working with individuals with intellectual disabilities are essential.</li> <li>Certification in an approved First Aid and CPR class; or successful completion within 45 days of date of hire.</li> <li>Insured, registered vehicle in safe working condition, and proof of current CA driver&rsquo;s license.</li> <li>Adjoin&rsquo;s client case management platform requires employees to utilize a mobile smart device with reliable Internet connectivity and data to complete certain essential job tasks. Reasonable reimbursement provided.</li> </ul> <p><strong>POSITION REQUIREMENTS</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to travel within and throughout the counties in which services are provided a min of 20% of the time.</li> <li>The Creative Arts Coordinator works as scheduled by the Program Manager and/or his/her designee. This position is full-time and may occasionally require overtime as dictated by operational needs; however, no holiday or overtime hours may be worked without prior approval of the CAC&rsquo;s supervisor.&nbsp;</li> <li>Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background check.</li> <li>Acceptable DMV record</li> </ul>
