Full-Time

Overview: Adult and Child Center provides therapeutic services to families involved &nbsp;with &nbsp;Department of Child Services (DCS) and court-involved youth in central Indiana, helping to develop healthy homes where children are safe, supported and well-cared for. As a member of the Home-Based Team, the Child Welfare Specialist is responsible for supervising visits between children and their caregiver(s), attending court hearings and DCS/Probation team meetings, providing case management, and empowering adults and children to reach their full potential while effectively and efficiently managing community and center resources. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Developing key skills with families (children and adults) &nbsp;</li> <li>Linking family members to needed mental health services and community resources&nbsp;</li> <li>Case management&nbsp;</li> <li>Supervising children and caregiver(s) visits&nbsp;</li> <li>Attending court and DCS/probation meetings&nbsp;</li> <li>Accurate, timely progress notes and reports/documentation</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Counseling, or closely related field required &nbsp;OR a combination of child welfare experience and one of the following bachelor degrees: Criminal Justice, Nursing, Psychiatry, Sociology, Special Education&nbsp;</li> <li>Experience with EMR systems preferred</li> <li>Previous experience in child welfare and/or community based services preferred&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to maintain professional relationships with a variety of individuals (staff therapists, psychologists, DCS/probation staff)&nbsp;</li> <li>Knowledge of child abuse and neglect; child and adult development; community resources&nbsp;</li> <li>Strong organizational skills&nbsp;</li> <li>Must hold a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and provide own, insured, transportation</li> </ul>
