Overview: <br /><br /> <p>The Manager of Cloud Architecture will be responsible for the overall performance, standards, and direction of Cloud architecture and architecture domains. This role will serve in a critical leadership role over the Cloud Architecture team and partner with Technology Leadership and Business Leadership to follow business imperatives. The Manager of Cloud Architecture will participate in the Architecture Review Board (ARB), as needed, to support Product/Project Portfolio Prioritization responsibilities and Product Architecture review.</p> <p>This&nbsp;position will be responsible for the selection, architecture, and implementation of the tools and processes that enable rapid software development, deployment, scalability, and resilience. These tools and processes will support our current software delivery model and our rapid transition to a multi-tenant cloud solution.<br /><br /></p> <p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:</strong></p> <p>Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards.</p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Responsible for Product(s) technology initiatives/vision in alignment with the functional initiatives/vision on our product roadmap(s) within the product portfolio(s).&nbsp;</li> <li>Partner with technology and business teams to quantify and communicate the impacts, trade-offs, risks, costs, benefits, and opportunities of Technology solutions from an architecture perspective.</li> <li>Influence senior leaders and all levels of business and technology staff on all areas of the architecture, including policies, standards, strategies, and governance.</li> <li>Responsible for establishing and enhancing formal architecture plans including up-to-date technology roadmaps and future state maps.</li> <li>Responsible for leading the architecture team on evaluating, establishing, and delivery of new technologies, frameworks, and design patterns and enabling them for use by the technology team.</li> <li>Lead the definition of architecture principles and standards are oversee that they are consistently applied.</li> <li>Keeping up to date on technical architecture strategy and innovation best practices and trends</li> <li>Provide expert advice on industry and application trends when analyzing and planning current and future IT needs.</li> <li>Provide guidance on complex architecture challenges.</li> <li>Career management of architects.</li> <li>Sourcing additional resources for the Product Architecture team.</li> <li>Ensures comprehensive and complete work practices and processes are in place and effective.</li> <li>Responsible and accountable for assisting with communications and marketing efforts for the Product Architecture team</li> <li>Upon request, function as the department head in the absence of the senior leadership.</li> <li>Participate in the development of programs as a strategic partner that supports the Company plan.</li> <li>Participate in development of annual departmental budget, monitor budget, and identify budget discrepancies. Research cause and make recommendations.</li> <li>Responsibility for balancing workload to optimize the effectiveness of the department.</li> <li>Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure &amp; services teams to design and build frameworks that support on-premise, hybrid, and cloud delivery models</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>DIRECTION EXERCISED:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Directly supervises exempt and non-exempt staff in accordance with company policies and applicable Federal and State Laws.&nbsp;</li> <li>Responsibilities include but are not limited to effectively interviewing, hiring, terminating, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and counseling employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; supporting and encouraging the engagement process.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <p><strong>EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in computer science or related field.&nbsp;</li> <li>Combinations of relevant education, certifications, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.&nbsp;</li> <li>Continuous learning, as defined by the Company&rsquo;s learning philosophy, is required.&nbsp;</li> <li>Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Seven years of progressive responsibility in an IT environment with demonstrated technical knowledge which provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities.&nbsp;</li> <li>Three years management or supervisory in IT required.&nbsp;</li> <li>Experience within the insurance industry is highly preferred.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Broad understanding of business domains and preferred expertise in one or more domains</li> <li>Project/Resource Management.</li> <li>Deep understanding of development and project management processes and methodologies including common roles, responsibilities, and key deliverables.</li> <li>Deep understanding of current technology environment, competitive landscape, and industry trends in emerging technologies.</li> <li>In-depth understanding of the Healthcare Payor domain.</li> <li>Knowledge of all components of holistic architecture.</li> <li>Knowledge of business re-engineering principles and processes.</li> <li>Strong leadership skills.</li> <li>Excellent analytical and technical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent planning and organizational skills.</li> <li>Drive for results.</li> <li>Dealing with ambiguity/change.&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to effectively exchange information, in verbal or written form, by sharing ideas, reporting facts and other information, responding to questions, and employing active listening techniques.</li> <li>Ability to effectively present budgetary and/or cost information, and respond to questions as appropriate.</li> <li>Ability to establish workflows, manages multiple projects, and meets necessary deadlines.</li> </ul>
