Overview: <br />The&nbsp;Cloud Delivery Manager&nbsp;is responsible for the work delivery by the Cloud Engineering team. The Cloud Project Delivery manager leads&nbsp;service governance development, implementation and continual improvement of Cloud Engineering as a practice&nbsp;The Cloud Project Delivery Manager will provide technical leadership to Cloud Engineers and capacity and resource planning to senior management. Responsible and accountable for timely and highest quality project delivery. Serves as a key member of the Product Hosting team; helps establish systems/technology strategy.<br /><br /> <p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:</strong></p> <p>Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards.</p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Manage day-to-day Cloud Engineering Project Delivery and tasks</li> <li>Act as a technical Manager for a team of Cloud Engineers being the primary point in driving standard processes, troubleshooting methodologies and setting the tone for excellence.</li> <li>Responsible for the development of administrative processes, Cloud Engineering tool procurement, and ensuring compliance with defined processes.</li> <li>Assist Engineering teams with technical issues in all phases of a project's life cycle. This includes providing technical analysis/design services to the project through the delivery of recommended design.</li> <li>Build, expand and create our deployment and management patterns starting with Critical Stack</li> <li>Form the basis of our Cloud Engineering core within Advantasure&rsquo;s Product Hosting Group</li> <li>Train and provide guidance to other members of the team.</li> <li>Collaborates with development teams to resolve Cloud Infrastructure design.</li> <li>Coordinate tasks/schedules of external consultants and internal staff</li> <li>Monitors/manages resources to assure system availability and capacity for growth.</li> <li>Create and manage platform and brokerage service which is used to provision and manage workloads across our hybrid multi-cloud environments that are highly available</li> <li>Provide a deep technological understanding of cloud infrastructures, capabilities and security models, and engineer cloud-hosted solutions and integrations</li> <li>Responsible for defining and implementing cloud systems that support process and procedures in a multi-cloud environment</li> <li>Understand and identify the cloud-native model that can be operationalized with an initial small team and scaled up based on demand</li> <li>Create and document reusable components necessary for efficient and scalable application migration to public cloud</li> <li>Provide technical consultation to application teams migrating to public cloud based on a joint assessment of existing application technology and deployment model</li> <li>Builds new abstractions and service layers on top of the native cloud functionality to enhance security, enforce standardization and enable engineer productivity</li> <li>Provides subject matter expertise to other groups on cloud-native capabilities, in-house abstractions and tools</li> <li>Establishes and maintains Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for the overall health of the service and builds tools to exercise and evaluate if these KPIs are being met</li> <li>Works cross-functionally with other teams to surface common pain points, architect solutions, establish conventions, and evangelize application development and operations best practices</li> <li>Works within the team on priorities and helps specify the deliverables around governance software, best practices</li> <li>Performs other duties as assigned by senior leadership.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>DIRECTION EXERCISED:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Directly supervises exempt and non-exempt staff in accordance with company policies and applicable Federal and State Laws.</li> <li>Responsibilities include but are not limited to effectively interviewing, hiring, terminating, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and counseling employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; supporting and encouraging the engagement process.</li> </ul> <br /> <p>This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Requirements: <br /> <p><strong>EDUCATION:<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering or related field.</li> <li>Master&rsquo;s in computer science, MBA, or other advanced degree is desirable.</li> <li>Relevant combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.</li> <li>Continuous learning, as defined by the Company&rsquo;s learning philosophy, is required.&nbsp;</li> <li>Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>EXPERIENCE:<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>10 years of relevant experience in IT with at least 5+ years of experience in Cloud Computing, and at least 3 years of experience in managing people.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience managing cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders</li> <li>Broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, technology directions, and strategic application to business needs, including the ability to differentiate between a relevant trend and hype</li> <li>Proven experience in improving operational efficiency, and technology delivery across an IT organization</li> <li>Ability to work with and empower others on a collaborative basis to ensure the success of individuals and teams</li> <li>Ability to effectively exchange information, in verbal or written form, by sharing ideas, reporting facts and other information, responding to questions, and employing active listening techniques</li> <li>Strong collaborative problem solver</li> <li>Ability to establish workflows, manage multiple projects, and meet necessary deadlines</li> </ul> <br /><br /> <p>The qualifications listed above are intended to represent the minimum education, experience, skills, knowledge and ability levels associated with performing the duties and responsibilities contained in this job description.</p> <p>We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
