Overview: Our Underwriting team is a key element in helping our clients get the best protection possible.<br /><br />Working closely with Account Executive and Account Managers in our five branches you will guide them in presenting the best coverage, protecting the customer and Alpine.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Manage day-to-day underwriting requests/inquiries from branch colleagues. Authorizing coverage, limits and pricing in accordance with established guidelines and Intact&rsquo;s policies, practices, standards, applicable laws and regulations.</li> <li>Answer inquiries and make recommendations to colleagues through verbal and written correspondence.</li> <li>Analyzing renewals.</li> <li>Assess and evaluate risks.</li> <li>Maintain excellent relationships with Intact Insurance company representatives.</li> <li>Meet Alpine/Intact processing result metrics.</li> <li>Identifying and evaluating trends and options.</li> <li>Work&nbsp;effectively with all internal/external departments to ensure high performance.</li> <li>Contribute to a strong team and positive work environment.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong><u>The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Post-Secondary Education</li> <li>Minimum 5-8 years Personal Lines Insurance experience, &nbsp;underwriting experience an asset</li> <li>Insurance Designation (CAIB, CPIB, CCIB, CIP,FCIP, CRM)</li> <li>Demonstrated efficiency and priority management skills</li> <li>Very strong Analytical Abilities, reading and interpretation of numbers and details.</li> <li>Must be able to interpret policy wording and legal documents</li> <li>Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills</li> <li>Ability to work independently</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li> </ul>
