This is an opportunity for an MLS or CLS Land Surveyor to take on an exciting hybrid role from guiding the work of a small team and managing the day-to-day functions of the office to hands-on surveying of large parcels of land and building community relationships.</p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Who you are</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">You are a Land Surveyor with a federal license (CLS) or you have your provincial license and you want to pursue your CLS. Responsibilities: <p dir="ltr"><strong>Here&rsquo;s what our new Land Surveyor and Branch Manager will do:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Implement and enforce company policies.</li> <li>Recruit, retain, develop, train and mentor office and field staff to enhance current and future capabilities.</li> <li>Conduct performance assessments and provide constructive feedback to staff.</li> <li>Manage the branch with a strong emphasis on the overall corporate goals of growth and diversification.</li> <li>Demonstrate commitment to our safety culture by actively participating and following all policies and procedures.</li> <li>Ensure staff work meets appropriate quality and production levels to meet client expectations.</li> <li>Develop and coordinate business development activities to generate and acquire local business leads.</li> <li>Build and nurture client relationships to identify and further develop opportunities with our clients.</li> <li>Implement and enforce company policies.</li> <li>Understand all regulatory and technical requirements for your projects.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p dir="ltr"><strong>So, how do we know you are the next Land Surveyor and Branch Manager? You have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>The education and the experience. You have a diploma or a degree in Geomatics and an MLS commission with direct field experience. You have, or are interested in pursuing, your CLS commission. Ideally, but not required, you have experience working as a Branch or Division Manager.</li> <li>The communication skills. Your verbal, written and presentation skills are outstanding. You know how to build and nurture relationships. You bring the enthusiasm and the ability to engage people with a high attention to cultural sensitivity. You have an interest in working with First Nations communities.</li> <li>The personality. You are driven by a commitment to customer satisfaction through innovative problem solving. You have a collaborative attitude and can excel as part of a team as well as in an independent environment. You have excellent time management, interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.</li> <li>The leadership abilities. You have exceptional people management skills and you can inspire the work of others while taking on part of the workload. You know how to balance priorities and make sound business decisions. You have substantial project management experience and proven success meeting deliverables on time and on budget while exceeding client expectations.</li> <li>The curiosity and drive. You have an aptitude for technology, math and science. You are looking to commit to us and grow with us.</li> <li>The flexibility. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple priorities at a time.
