Provides assistance to agents, insureds and internal departments as needed. Claims Support staff aim to keep adjusters and leaders as efficient as possible.</p> </div> </div> </div>
Responsibilities: <div class="page" title="Page 1">Functions listed are intended to illustrate the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.<br /> <ul> <li>Performs non-licensed functions associated with the claims adjudication process.</li> <li>Receives incoming Claims calls, assists with phone coverage to provide backup to Customer Service group during&nbsp;periods of high call volume.</li> <li>Assists in processing, uploading, and general handling of correspondence and other file-related information.</li> <li>Processes approved payments in the claims system.</li> <li>Assists claims personnel with data entry and entering new losses into the system.</li> <li>Process and handle payments to vendors or insureds in support and at direction of adjusters.</li> <li>Assign and reassigns claims at the direction of management or the adjustment team.</li> <li>Addresses file-related questions with appropriate adjuster or manager.</li> <li>Provides guidance and answers adjusters&rsquo; questions regarding the system&rsquo;s work processes.</li> <li>Informs management of important issues regarding questionable checks, payment issues, or new claim creations.</li> <li>Assists in performing security and compliance audits.</li> <li>Helps train new Claims Support staff.</li> <li>Assists in special projects and reports for Claims Management.</li> <li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><br /></div>
Requirements: Skills and Competencies<br /> <ul> <li class="page" title="Page 1">Clerical: Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing electronic files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.</li> <li class="page" title="Page 1">English Language: Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.</li> <li class="page" title="Page 1">Professionalism: always Maintains a professional image. IT, Data Analysis, Financial Services, or related experience helpful.</li> <li>Willingness to work flexible shifts, 7 days per week with 12-hour shifts for major catastrophes, and overtime as needed for claim spikes.</li> <li>Demonstrates integrity.</li> <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required</li> </ul> <p>Physical and Environmental Conditions:</p> <p>Work is conducted in downtown St. Petersburg, a vibrant waterfront community.
