Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Writes, verifies, and makes payments on tickets for sports wagers in accordance with departmental policy and procedures, and ensures compliance to applicable jurisdictional gaming statutes and regulations.</li> <li>Maintains a cash bank for his/her shift; responsible for accepting payment and making correct change when necessary.</li> <li>Stocks Sports Book stations with adequate supplies; keeps all stations neat and clean.</li> <li>Writes Sports tickets in an accurate and timely manner.</li> <li>Makes payments on winning tickets in an accurate and timely manner; verifies tickets and payoffs.</li> <li>Maintains and reconciles bank for assigned shift, following established cash-handling policies and procedures.</li> <li>Explains wagering rules, including betting lines and odds, and procedures to guests.</li> <li>Provides information and assistance to customers in a friendly, courteous manner to ensure the delivery of excellent guest service.</li> <li>Offers information on activities, etc., and directs guests for further information as necessary.</li> <li>Creates and enters player tracking cards.</li> <li>Notifies management of escalated or prevalent guest issues/concerns and any apparent suspicious activity.</li> <li>Performs other job-related duties as requested.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Must be at least 21 years of age.</li> <li>High School Diploma or GED equivalent and minimum six (6) months of cash-handling experience required.</li> <li>Previous experience in Racetrack and Sports Book preferred.</li> <li>Previous experience in a similar resort environment preferred.</li> <li>Ability to work as a part of a team in a high-stress and high-volume environment.</li> <li>Ability to work in and adapt to a dynamic and frequently changing environment.&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to adhere to and execute established departmental policies and procedures.</li> <li>Working knowledge of sports.</li> <li>Proficient cash-handling skills.</li> <li>Ability to work under pressure while being able to pay attention to details.</li> <li>Basic math skills required to calculate winnings based on odds.</li> <li>Basic computer skills.</li> <li>Excellent customer service skills.</li> <li>Ability to maintain professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance, adhering to departmental and company standards.</li> <li>Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.</li> <li>Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to obtain and maintain a license by the Indiana Gaming Commission as may be required for this position.</li> </ul>
