Overview: <p>The Program Director is responsible for maintaining the integrity of their site at all times.. This is done through building meaningful relationships with children and families, securing enrollment for their site, and guiding and supporting teachers in executing our mission and vision with the children.</p> <p>The Program Director reports to the Executive Director</p>
Responsibilities: Some of the duties of the site director include:<br /> <ul> <li>Demonstrates a commitment to provide progressive early education for young children and their families, in order to promote the values of our social justice branches: respecting authentic childhood, inclusion and equity, environmental education and stewardship, global citizenship, and collaborative community involvement.</li> <li>Be the &ldquo;face&rdquo; of the building ensuring all feel welcome and know who to come to if needed Uphold high quality customer service in all interactions</li> <li>Work approx. 40 hours per week, at least 10 hours per week in the classroom</li> <li>Reports Abuse or Neglect as a mandated reporter</li> <li>Maintains safe, secure, and healthy educational environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations</li> <li>Ability to lift 35 lbs. or more with or without reasonable accommodation.</li> <li>Ensure staff are familiar with and adhere to all policies and procedures from licensing, Employee Policy Manuals, guides and handbooks</li> <li>Manage and oversee staff: monthly staff meetings, coaching, feedback, semi-annual evaluations, hiring, firing, conflict resolution, discipline, curriculum development, one-on-ones.&nbsp;</li> </ul>
Requirements: <strong>Education:</strong> <br /> <ul> <li>At least 18 credits of Early Childhood Education.</li> </ul> <strong>Experience:</strong> <br /> <ul> <li>At least three years of Early Childhood Education experience are required.&nbsp;</li> <li>At least 2 years management experience also preferred.</li> <li>TB test, ICHAT, Fingerprint, DHS Background Check(s), CPR, First Aid and BBP training may be acquired after position is offered.</li> </ul> <strong>Qualities of a Successful Program Director:<br /></strong> <ul> <li>Flexible with change</li> <li>High social IQ (empathetic, compassionate, thoughtful, intuitive)</li> <li>Good time management skills</li> <li>Able to work collaboratively and independently</li> <li>Professional within the programs and in the community</li> <li>Is responsive to various communication styles</li> <li>Handles feedback graciously</li> <li>Recognize mistakes and intentionally grows from them</li> </ul>
