This is a chance to be part of a growing global organization while building your career right here on Long Island. Vastly different from construction, this is chance to apply your expertise in the costs, materials, sizes and engineering of the highly specific for the display manufacturing industry. You have a high attention to detail and understand the importance of accuracy - and the domino effect of errors -in measurements and estimates. You are familiar with manufacturing process from materials to models and beyond; yet you are equally comfortable working with sales and other teams; an invaluable team player, you thrive in a laid-back but fast-paced environment.</p> <p><strong>What&rsquo;s in it for you</strong></p> <ul> <li>A collaborative atmosphere. Responsibilities: <p><strong>What our new Estimator will do:<br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>Collaborate. Collect and receive information from the internal Design, Engineering and Sales teams. Analyse the details provided for proper manufacturing direction and reach back out face-to-face or via phone or email to fill in gaps.</li> <li>Produce a working estimate. Interpret renderings or sketch drawings to calculate complete estimates with yields, call-outs and assumptions for use by Project Management.</li> <li>Obtain quotes. Provide vendors with basic drawings and measurements to obtain quote. Retrieve accurate pricing from external vendors to feed the estimate. Alternatively, draw on knowledge and experience to assign approximate pricing to components or full displays when vendors do not respond in time.</li> <li>Produce a finished estimate. Gather, review, translate and complete all required information to create a finalized estimate on time. Transpose estimate into a comprehensive and understandable written summary to be used in formal quotes to the clients.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>So, how do we know you are the Estimator for us? You have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>The education. College diploma.</li> <li>The experience. 3+ years as an Estimator in a manufacturing (not construction) setting. Display manufacturing experience is preferred.</li> <li>The accuracy and the innovation. Strong attention to detail and ability to work through various issues. Highly organized and extremely accurate.</li> <li>The drive and motivation. Commitment to delivering quality results and overcoming obstacles in a time-sensitive environment. Ability to prioritize multiple work streams while remaining calm in a fast-paced department and seek out new projects upon completion.</li> <li>The interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication. The ability to build relationships and the comfort to reach out to internal and external contacts to request information.</li> <li>The technical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Ability to interpret engineering design documents.
