Responsibilities: <p><strong>What our new Production Planner will do:</strong></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Analyze. Examine production specifications and departmental capacity data and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, machines, and capacity resource requirements.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Lead. Conduct daily/weekly production meetings with production and material planning team, to ensure on time delivery. Facilitate forecast review meeting with production, sales, and material planning team. </span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Create master production schedule. </span></li> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Develop master production schedule in weekly increments. Establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to seasonal sales forecasts and customer orders. </span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Prepare 16 weeks out Level load plans for Models Shop, Metal Fabrication, Woodwork, Injection Molding, Vac-Forming, Graphics, Machining and Assembly departments on a weekly basis. </span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Plan and schedule daily/weekly workflow for production departments according to previously established manufacturing sequences and most recent lead times. The scope of scheduling extends to sub-assembly level. </span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Perform 4 to 6 weeks out workload versus capacity comparison for all work centers to help level load production and to estimate labor requirements.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Provide a copy to materials planner.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Review with the team to initiate planning activities. </span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ensure Master Production Schedule is up to date and accurate and reflects correct ship quantities and shipmates. </span></li> </ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Review and update. Confer with Department supervisors to determine the status of assigned projects. Review performance with production team during the weekly meeting. </span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Expedite operations. Coordinate with Materials Planner, Purchasing, Production Team and Logistics when changes need to occur on the schedule. Alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. </span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Measure and report. Monitor and develop KPIs to ensure on time delivery of internal suppliers. Prepare and publish production reports on weekly and monthly basis including on-time-delivery, capacity utilization and level load reports. </span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Communicate and collaborate. Work with production, project management, warehouse, internal suppliers and shipping to help expedite rush orders and &nbsp;to ensure products ship on time.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Introduce and implement standards. Participate, support and sustain 5S, Safety and Continuous Improvement initiatives.</span></li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>So, how do we know you are the new Production Planner? You have:</strong></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The education. Diploma or degree in Engineering, Business or a related field. ERP certification in production planning module is preferred.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The experience. 4+ years in production planning including at least 2 years hands-on experience planning in ERP/MRP systems. Exposure to a Lean manufacturing environment is preferred. Experience in a supervisory capacity is an asset.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The accuracy and the innovation. Strong attention to detail, highly organized and capable of calculating intermediate math equations accurately. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The drive and motivation. Commitment to delivering quality results and overcoming obstacles in a time-sensitive environment. Ability to prioritize multiple work streams while remaining calm in a fast-paced department.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to gain the trust of a team and guide their work. Excellent verbal and written communication. The ability to build relationships and the comfort to reach out to internal and external contacts to request information. Experience writing routine reports and correspondence. </span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The technical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word; MS Access is a benefit.
