You may have:</p> <ul> <li>Run your own repair or contracting business.</li> <li>Been a custodian or maintenance technician in an industrial facility.</li> <li>Extensive residential (such as a multi-home building) experience.</li> </ul> <p>Either way, you want to step into our building at 350 Progress and take ownership for keeping the lights on, the doors unlocked (or locked), the pathways accessible and everything else running smoothly. This is an opportunity for an organized, team player who thrives in a fast-paced atmosphere and wants to apply their hands-on skills to get the work done, take proactive measures; work with contractors and ensure we meet all industrial building guidelines.</p> <p><strong>What&rsquo;s in it for you</strong></p> <p>We&rsquo;re giving you the keys to the place. Literally. You want to take ownership, have the autonomy to make decisions and solve problems. This is the place and the role. You&rsquo;ll plan your work, operate with minimal oversight (but with the support and training when you need it), and become an integral member of our team. This is a facility with less than 100 people onsite and they will all depend on you - whether it&rsquo;s to ensure their safety; restock the supplies; guarantee hot water; or, just make things happen.</p>
Responsibilities: <p><strong>What our new Facilities Maintenance Lead will do:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Follow safety standards. Perform ALL work in accordance with ALL established regulatory compliance and safety requirements. Ensure all work is done in support of our values in pride, accountability, integrity, and diligence.</li> <li>Administration. You will ensure proper documentation of work performed, parts used and time sheets.</li> <li>Coordinate. You will work closely with third-party providers for specialized, complex, and large tasks including but not limited to utility systems such as heating, gas, steam, and electric; ground maintenance such as cutting grass; parking lot snow removal.</li> <li>Execute. You will review job orders, prioritize, plan and undertake repairs, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.</li> <li>Machine maintenance. You will inspect operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards, develop a maintenance schedule, and coordinate equipment repairs.</li> <li>General building maintenance and repairs. You will be hands-on, undertaking tasks such as dry-walling, painting, changing light bulbs, minor plumbing repairs; sidewalk maintenance and entryway accessibility, light groundskeeping, supply restocking, small appliance functioning, general cleaning of premises.</li> <li>Maintains internal operating and 5S standards and support. You will ensure audits are completed on time and corrective actions implemented. You will report any Health and Safety issues to the department manager immediately.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>So, how do we know you are the new Facilities Maintenance Lead? You have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>The experience. Minimum 2+ years of experience working in a similar role. You are 100% hands-on with a comprehensive knowledge of maintaining a smaller commercial/industrial facility.</li> <li>The drive. You are a self starter. You want to be your own boss and yet be part of a team. You take a genuine sense of ownership for your work and the impact you make on the daily lives of the people who work in your facility.</li> <li>The organization. You can easily prioritize work orders and can juggle multiple projects at once in order to ensure all tasks are done in a timely manner.</li> <li>The attitude and flexibility. You are flexible, adaptable and have a high sense of urgency and dedication.</li> <li>The innovation. An avid troubleshooter, you can pull from your knowledge and experience to find the right solution.</li> <li>The technical skills. You are comfortable using Microsoft Office and computerized preventative maintenance programs.
