Responsibilities: <p dir="ltr"><strong>Our new Development Engineering Technologist will:</strong></p> <ul dir="ltr"> <li>Evaluate the data within the design proposal and specifications to determine the feasibility of the fabrication. Create working drawings of designs and a bill of materials. Ensure the display is mechanically sound and designed for manufacturability.</li> <li>Render concept images in SolidWorks to fulfill the customer&rsquo;s specific project needs - from a full wall new display case to a small unit to highlight a seasonal product&nbsp;- from a mechanical and design standpoint adhering to budget, timeline and quality standards.</li> <li>Collaborate and communicate with the Project Manager, other Technologists and the cross-functional team on the development and execution of design and engineering solutions to ensure production packages and samples convey the necessary information. These may require updates as necessary and ongoing collaboration until the project is complete.</li> <li>Create detailed planograms, models, cut files and engineering drawings to suit manufacturing processes and the schedule based on the approved concept.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p dir="ltr"><strong>So, how do we know you are the new Development Engineering Technologist? You have:</strong></p> <ul dir="ltr"> <li>The education and experience. You have a two-year college or technical school diploma in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Technology or Design. You are familiar with Ontario Health &amp; Safety regulations.</li> <li>The technical skills. You are highly proficient with SolidWorks, CNC Programming, MS Excel and Word. You learn new technologies easily. You also have exposure to Autocad and Illustrator.</li> <li>The engineering approach. You approach issues logically and strive to be proactive. You know how to research information and create solutions. You have strong visualization skills and you &ldquo;think in 3D&rdquo;. You understand how interferences, minute measurements, materials and more have an impact on the end product and you can relay that on paper.</li> <li>The communication. You are well spoken and can confidently defend your choices while accepting constructive criticism and feedback. You can compose clear, concise business emails with ease.&nbsp;</li> <li>The drive. You are self-motivated and proactive. You thrive in an autonomous role.
