Overview: <p><strong>General Summary: &nbsp;<br /><br /></strong>The Engineering Manager is responsible for translating the organization&rsquo;s vision, mission, and values into a meaningful context for the Project Engineering Team and our Customers<strong>.&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong>The Engineering Manager provides leadership and technical expertise for the Project Engineering Team and is responsible for the administration and management of the groups workflow.&nbsp; The Engineering Manager ensures that the Project Engineering Team is responsive and provides a quality work product to internal and external customers.</p> <p>Associated&rsquo;s Consulting and System Integration department provides clients with engineering resources and technical solutions for optimizing space, labor, and order fulfillment.&nbsp; Associated&rsquo;s large MHE Sales Team and Technical Staff are utilized to identify client opportunities in addition to supporting project sales, implementations, and installations.</p>
Responsibilities: <strong>Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Provide technical leadership for engineering and project management staff</li> <li>Foster a collaborative team oriented environment</li> <li>Drive departmental continuous improvement and &ldquo;best practices&rdquo; initiatives</li> <li>Manage department resources to ensure that the department is responsive to customer needs</li> <li>Demonstrate technical expertise to internal and external customers</li> <li>Ensure that processes and procedures are developed and followed to provide customers quality solutions on time and on budget</li> <li>Assist in the concepting and design of racking and automated solutions</li> <li>Foster a cultural environment where initiative, proactive communication and exceeding customer expectations are the foundation</li> <li>Maintain a strong working knowledge of current product and service offerings throughout the market</li> <li>Provide leadership, training and support to ensure Consulting and System Integration&rsquo;s goals and strategies are met or exceeded</li> <li>Provide training, coaching and performance appraisals for 10+ direct reports</li> <li>Develop and maintain supplier relationships that are aligned with the best interests of Associated and its Customers</li> <li>Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates</li> </ul>
Requirements: <strong>Qualifications</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Strong interpersonal, follow up/follow through and communication skills</li> <li>Skilled in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and Access</li> <li>Skilled in AutoCAD products, Knowledge of Inventor and Factory Design Suite preferred</li> <li>Skilled in racking and automated solutions. Ie. Conveyor, AS/RS, VLMs, AGVs, Mobile Rack, etc.</li> <li>Skilled in time-management and maintenance of project deadlines</li> <li>Skilled in both written and oral communications and customer relations</li> <li>Ability to work with all levels of an organization, both internally and externally</li> <li>Ability to analyze data to develop optimal customer solutions</li> <li>Ability to apply sound judgment, reasoning, and strong analytical problem solving skills</li> <li>Ability to evaluate, plan, prioritize and complete work in a timely manner</li> </ul> <strong>Education and Experience: </strong><br /> <ul> <li>Position requires an Engineering degree, preferably Industrial or Mechanical</li> <li>A minimum of 5+ years of automated system engineering, preferably in the material handling industry.</li> <li>Individual will be a result-oriented, customer-focused team player with strong communication and consistent attention to detail skills. </li> </ul>
