Overview: This position is responsible for the maintaining company batteries and chargers as well as helping out with shipping and receiving of all outgoing and incoming products for the branch.&nbsp; The Shop Trainee works with a variety of internal departments as well as external customers in coordinating the receiving and distribution of products. The Shop Trainee must work hand in hand with the Renewed &amp; Rental Manager as well as the Shop Manager to gain knowledge and experience with all levels of the Raymond product line.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Exhibits a professional demeanor and promotes goodwill between the company and customers by providing a superior level of customer service.</li> <li>Checks supplier packing slips and confirms receipt of product in good condition.</li> <li>Dates, signs, and forwards all completed packing slips to Renewed &amp; Rental Manager.</li> <li>Receives product and puts in proper place within shop utilizing company&rsquo;s bar coding system.</li> <li>Maintains clean shipping/receiving area as well as keeps entire shop area swept and clean.</li> <li>Waters and cycle charges batteries in rental and demo trucks as well as other company assets as needed.</li> <li>Ensures proper damage assessments and notes according to procedure for all company assets received into building.</li> <li>Organizes scrap batteries and works with rental department to ensure proper disposal or sale of the same.</li> <li>Ensures Rental Quality Assurance Program is employed on all company assets leaving building.</li> <li>Works with Shop Manager in downtime to gain working knowledge of equipment.</li> <li>Follows safety rules and ensures that hazardous waste is disposed of properly.</li> <li>Responsible for keeping warehouse clean and organized, including hazardous waste disposal and light facility maintenance.</li> <li>Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Knowledge of Microsoft office products, internal ERP system.</li> <li>Ability to match, sort and collate information as well as organize data.</li> <li>Skilled in customer relations by exchanging information with courtesy and consideration.</li> <li>Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) with all levels of an organization internally and externally.</li> <li>Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or demonstrated instructions.</li> <li>Ability to maintain a good understanding of industry innovations and product availability in order to make recommendations based on customer needs.</li> <li>Ability to safely operate drills, grinders, presses, forklifts, hoists, overhead cranes and personal hand tools.</li> <li>Ability to draw upon available support resources from within the company and recognize when it is appropriate to do such.</li> <li>Ability to understand how equipment is set up for shipments, label, logged and counted.</li> <li>Ability to multi-task, and attention to detail.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Such other knowledge, skills, and abilities as are necessary for connection with additionally assigned duties.</li> <li>A minimum of a High School Diploma/GED equivalent is required along with a minimum of six months practical skills</li> </ul>
