Overview: The Solutions Engineer is responsible for assisting Associated’s customers in conceptualizing and promoting solutions in their distribution/warehousing environment. This position plays a key role in developing new business from existing customers as well as initiating new relationships. The position requires a strong understanding of the distribution and logistics industry, excellent communication skills, and ability to develop a "trusted advisor" relationship with customers.
Responsibilities: <li>Meets/exceeds sales activity goals and revenue targets by conceptualizing value added alternatives providing viable justification and long term satisfaction for customers.</li> <li>Consistently exhibits a team-oriented, customer focus with strong attention to detail.</li> <li>Leads and manages resources to efficiently sell the full suite of Associated’s offerings to include Distribution Engineering Services, Operational Excellence, Network Optimization Studies, Consulting and Material Handling Systems solutions.</li> <li>Builds strong relationships with internal sales team and business</li> <li>Fields and deploys the appropriate team (Project Engineers, Consultants, Management) in order to obtain a respective</li> <li>Works with all levels within customer organizations, including executive management, to conduct sales presentations, demonstrations, negotiations and project</li> <li>Maintains a strong working knowledge of equipment and service offerings within the competitive</li> <li>Focuses on selling solutions with complete understanding and analysis of the client’s existing and future business</li> <li>Supports and performs business initiatives such as promotions, campaigns, and trade</li> <li>Maintains contact with the public, customers, and other employees for the use of information</li> <li>Provides forecasts on business opportunities through accurate and timely updates to</li> <li>Represents Associated professionally in internal and external business</li> <li>Actively participates in team activities that promote a sense of “esprit de corps” amongst the Associated</li> <li>Plans, organizes, and executes sales strategies in a timely</li> <li>Requires frequent business travel to customer sites, which may include minimal (20%) overnight</li> <li>Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation</li>
Requirements: <li>Knowledge of AutoCAD</li> <li>Knowledge of comprehensive warehouse management, distribution, and/or material handling</li> <li>Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and</li> <li>Skilled in excellent written, verbal, presentation and listening skills to communicate with team members, customers, vendors and</li> <li>Skilled in time-management and maintenance of project</li> <li>Ability to organize goals, objectives, and execution plan of a project and to build</li> <li>Ability to work with all levels of an organization, both internally and externally</li> <li>Ability to take a leadership role and represent integrity, honesty, teamwork, and</li> <li>Ability to work with all buying influences, handle enterprise accounts, and close multi-million dollar</li> <li>Ability to identify ‘key players’ at a customer organization and identify critical issues to be addressed through Associated’s offerings.</li> <li>Ability to analyze raw data for the use of developing customer solutions to provide for project application.</li> <li>Ability to apply sound judgment and</li> Education and Experience: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required; Industrial Engineering Degree preferred. A minimum of 5 years of experience in the distribution or material handling industry with an understanding of the application of warehousing technology and an aptitude for selling. Preferred candidate will have a demonstrable track record of sales success in the fields of automated and storage solutions. <br />Working Conditions: This position requires frequent business travel to customer sites, which may include minimal (20%) overnight travel. Incumbent must be able to perform duties in warehouse environments with variable lighting, space, and little if any environmental interferences. Occasional exposure to severe elements outdoors as a result of travel in and out of vehicle or walking outside and temperature changes at different times of the day depending on freezer or ambient environments.
