Overview: Atomic Transport is looking for an experienced Aluminum Welder &amp; Fabricator/Mechanic to join our team! If you have experience welding and repairing tractor-trailers and enjoy hands-on fabrication and mechanical work, we want to hear from you. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Perform minor and major repairs on aluminum open-top tractor-trailers.</li> <li>Perform aluminum MIG welding, fabrication, cutting, grinding, and repair work.</li> <li>Weld, repair, reinforce, and fabricate tractor-trailer components.</li> <li>Conduct regular maintenance, welding, fabrication, and repairs on trailers.</li> <li>Diagnose problems and determine appropriate repair methods.</li> <li>Perform diagnostic tests and inspections on trucks and trailers.</li> <li>Inspect completed welds and repairs to ensure quality and structural integrity.</li> <li>Maintain accurate records of repairs performed.</li> <li>Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.</li> <li>Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.</li> <li>Must have basic hand tools; specialty and larger tools will be provided.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Previous experience welding and repairing tractor-trailers, semi-trailers, or heavy-duty equipment required.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with aluminum MIG welding and aluminum fabrication required.</li> <li>Experience repairing, reinforcing, modifying, and fabricating aluminum trailer components.</li> <li>Basic mechanical knowledge of trucks and trailers.</li> <li>Experience with trailer brakes, suspension, lighting, and other trailer components is preferred.</li> <li>Ability to read and understand basic measurements, drawings, and repair specifications.</li> <li>Knowledge of welding techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.</li> <li>Ability to inspect welds and complete repairs for quality and structural integrity.</li> <li>Welding certifications are preferred but not required; relevant hands-on experience will be considered.</li> <li>Ability to safely operate welders, grinders, cutting equipment, and other shop tools.</li> <li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.</li> <li>Must have reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.</li> <li>Must be able to safely lift, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various positions required for welding and trailer repairs.</li> </ul>
