Overview: The internal job title for the role is Divisional Quality Engineer . This role will design, implement, and maintain processes compliant to international standards for quality and forestry management systems.&nbsp; This role will establish standardized processes supporting all Label and Graphics Materials locations throughout North America, including the integration of new sites. The role reports to our divisional quality manager.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Lead the development and implementation of new or modified processes to acquire Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) certification.</li> <li>Leverage existing quality system infrastructure to implement International Standards Organization (ISO) compliant quality procedures and processes within new and newly acquired manufacturing locations.</li> <li>Work multi-functionally to adapt processes and procedures, and IT systems in reaction to internally and externally driven changes. Ensure continued compliance with standards while minimizing negative impact to efficiency and effectiveness of business processes.</li> <li>Partner with certification bodies FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) and SFI to ensure ongoing certification through external audit management.</li> <li>Integrate new sites, newly acquired sites and new equipment/processes into our Quality Management System.</li> <li>Support all business functions as they optimize their document control and QMS training processes.</li> <li>Lead the organization through both internal and external assessments (audits); provide on-site audit support.</li> <li>Partner with divisional quality leadership to harmonize and optimize internal audit processes covering the forestry and quality management systems.</li> <li>Serve as a lead auditor for ISO, FSC and SFI.</li> <li>Lead post audit finding resolution efforts across all sites &amp; complete corrective action effectiveness reviews and audits.</li> <li>Provide training to new auditors and new lead auditors for ISO, FSC and SFI.</li> <li>Train the organization on new (SFI) and changed (SFI, FSC) processes and procedures.</li> <li>Train all relevant functions within the organization on the FSC and SFI standards and related ISO standards.</li> <li>Ensure clarity and compliance of public FSC and SFI commercial and marketing information. Collaborate with customers to ensure their requirements around forestry standards are met.</li> <li>Supervise supplier FSC and SFI inputs and work with the procurement and marketing functions to maintain compliance.</li> <li>Complete lot trace activities to support claim investigations.</li> <li>Report to management the status of forestry management systems performance, through our Management Review process and monthly reporting.</li> <li>Collaborate with corporate compliance to achieve company sustainability goals relating to forestry management systems.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in engineering</li> <li>Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience</li> <li>Minimum 2 years experience working in an ISO9001 quality environment, or similar registered quality environment</li> <li>Travel 40% (manufacturing locations, vendor partners)</li> <li>This position is classified as &ldquo;Resident&rdquo; - on site full time, unless traveling to our manufacturing sites, Customers or vendor partners.</li> <li>Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to build strong and balanced relationships</li> <li>Proven track record of effectively communicating within a wide range of organizational levels</li> <li>Significant understanding of formal management systems and international standards combined with practical hands-on experience working directly with manufacturing locations is preferred.</li> <li>Experience crafting procedures, processes, programs, and practices under formal &ldquo;management systems&rdquo; like ISO 9001 (or a similar quality, environmental, or safety management systems) to ensure continuous improvement and continued conformance with relevant standards</li> <li>Strong leadership skills. Ability to lead, contribute, and influence others in a team-based organization</li> <li>Experience prioritizing multiple responsibilities with minimal direction</li> <li>Strong analytical and problem solving skills acting both independently and within a team environment</li> </ul>
