Entry Level

Overview: <p>As part of the Indigenous Intern Leadership Program (IILP), BCMEA is seeking an Indigenous Intern to join our company (paid) for 12 months starting in January 2019. Reporting to the HR Manager, the intern will work in each of the following departments in our organization:</p> <ul> <li>Human Resources</li> <li>Labor Relations</li> <li>Dispatch</li> <li>Training</li> <li>Accounting</li> </ul> <p>The Indigenous Intern Leadership program is open to graduates from all BC post-secondary institutions. The aim of the program is to introduce post-secondary graduates to the business fundamentals of BCMEA which will be achieved through a rotation in each of the above listed departments.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will be a lifelong learner who is looking for an opportunity to build their career, while gaining exposure to the thriving Maritime industry in BC.</p>
Responsibilities: <p><strong>Responsibilities: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Assist with the administration, coordination and logistical efforts of special projects as required</li> <li>Provide information to internal and external contacts via email, phone and in person</li> <li>Administer the BCMEA Human Resources Information systems and maintain updated employee information</li> </ul>
