Overview: We require a self-motivator with a high level understanding of best practices in adult education combined with a strong understanding of instructional methods, program development and training procedures. Previous experience delivering supervision, on-the-job training and a proven track record in managing people in a unionized environment is an asset. The candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and a customer service oriented attitude. Some travel and working flexible shifts is required.
Responsibilities: The Operations&nbsp;Supervisor is responsible for: <br /> <ul> <li>Day-to-day supervision of unionized worksite trainers and for ensuring the safety protocols are followed successfully</li> <li>Delivery and continued improvement of BCMEA&rsquo;s waterfront training programs</li> <li>Provide regular coaching, guidance and evaluation to trainers to ensure trainees receive fair, consistent, effective and timely training within specific timelines and budgets</li> <li>A high degree of interaction with the Association&rsquo;s member companies and Union representatives</li> <li>This is a full-time position</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Candidates should a hold diploma or degree in a relevant discipline, CRSP certification, or a trades ticket</li> <li>Ideally possess appropriate education related to operating equipment or inventory management and teaching adults complemented by 3 to 5 years of work related experience</li> <li>Knowledge and experience in health and safety management would be an asset</li> </ul>
