Overview: <p>Reporting to the LAN Admin Supervisor, the Network/ Security Administrator is responsible for maintaining computer networks and solving any problems that may occur with them over multiple sites so that the BCMEA is able to successfully and efficiently dispatch workforce for our end users as well as keeping training centers up and running at different member locations throughout the Province.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Design, plan, develop, install, configure, maintain, support, and optimize network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, Wifi and VPN, and security infrastructure including Cisco firewall/firepower, Umbrella, ISE and AMP.</li> <li>Build, install, administer, and optimize company servers and related components to achieve high performance of the various business applications supported by tuning the servers as necessary.</li> <li>Ensure all level 2 building security requests are attended to including, configuring holiday schedules, granting access to new users, and controlling elevator access through our building security systems.</li> <li>Implement and maintain Cisco cyber security products by addressing alerts and deploying them on servers and workstations.</li> <li>Perform security audits, risk assessments, and staff training sessions.</li> <li>Monitor network activity on BCMEA security platforms and perform action items as required on security issues.</li> <li>Develop and implement systems and network alerts, security policy, incident response and disaster recovery.</li> <li>Administer and optimize company servers and related components to achieve high performance of the various business applications supported by tuning the servers as necessary.</li> <li>Ensure the availability of client/server applications, configuring all new implementations, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server environment.</li> <li>Maintain the secure operation of the in-house computer systems, servers and network connections by checking server and firewall logs, scrutinizing network traffic, establishing and updating virus scans and troubleshooting.</li> <li>Analyze and resolve security breaches and vulnerability issues in a timely and accurate fashion, and conduct user activity audits where required.</li> <li>Act as a liaison between internal users including senior management and external organizations such as vendors, technical support staff, member company&rsquo;s staff and management.</li> <li>Attend industry conference, training and education sessions, participates in team and company events</li> <li>Train and support end users on new/existing hardware &amp; software.</li> <li>Prepare and maintain documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts.</li> <li>Setup and support multimedia platforms for remote meetings and presentations for end users.</li> <li>Provide support for end user mobile devices to make sure they are functioning and able to connect to BCMEA resources.</li> <li>Provide technical advice to customer care, development and DBA team.</li> <li>Manage and procure licensing for all Microsoft systems.</li> <li>Manage WSUS Servers for patching deployment.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>3-5 years administration experience in a LAN/WAN network environment.</li> <li>2+ years working with securities technology.</li> <li>Bachelor's Degree or Technical Diploma required.</li> <li>Proficient in installing, maintaining and supporting network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, Wifi and VPN, and security infrastructure including Cisco firewall/firepower, Umbrella, ISE and AMP.</li> <li>Knowledge of Cisco security technologies and components. This includes Firewalls, Switches Routers, Anti-Virus, Anti Malware, Intrusion Detection, and other traffic inspection pieces. Able to comprehend available information and invoke any actions accordingly.</li> <li>Require knowledge and skills of Network/System Administration technologies, Cisco switches and firewalls to ensure secure access is granted so that infrastructure and applications can communicate properly.</li> <li>Ability to maintain the Avigilon server and retrieve video as needed.</li> <li>Troubleshooting and diagnostic experience.</li> <li>Knowledge of Microsoft, Cisco, VMware technologies.</li> <li>Working functionality of Veeam software for backup and restore of system files.</li> <li>Ability to maintain our battery backups throughout all our sites.</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li> <li>Driver's licence and ability to travel to remote sites and customers.</li> <li>Ability to be work flexible hours &ndash; Regularly be available 24\7 for administration &amp; support tasks.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><em>The BCMEA is committed to employment equity and welcomes applications from everyone.
